EVENT IN JULY EVERY YEAR THE FAMOUS AVIGNON FESTIVAL.
Avignon is famous for its theater festival, created in 1947 by Jean Vilar, which now attracts the entire contemporary performing arts scene in summer. Every year in July, the City of the Popes becomes the City of Theater, its streets transformed into a huge stage that hosts the world's largest live theater festival, In & Off. Theater stages blossom in the city center. The show is on the street, in improvised theaters, in sometimes unlikely places. Over a thousand shows take place in these theaters. And in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palais des Papes. You can attend this exceptional event... Avignon is a huge stage in which the spectator is a stakeholder. In addition to the many existing theaters and restaurants, there are plenty of temporary ones opening their doors for the occasion. Hundreds of street vendors, craftsmen and painters exhibit their wares. Singers and bands of all styles, dancers and theater companies enliven our streets and stages, and the city is an open-air forum where festival-goers talk about the shows and share their experiences as spectators.

For one month, everyone can have access to a lively, contemporary culture. If you're tempted by this fabulous STAY, come and take your vacation in our region. Our Provencal villa is just 5 minutes from the Avignon Festival.

AROUND the prestigious Côtes du Rhône wine cellars: visit and discover famous vineyards such as the cellars of the prestigious Châteauneuf du Pape, the cellars of Baumes de Venise, the cellars of Gigondas, the cellars of Tavel (1°rose de France), the cellars of the Côtes du Rhône and the olive oil mills.
Finally, for lovers of fine wine and gastronomy, we'll be happy to recommend tables and estates to suit your tastes and expectations. Avignon boasts a remarkable architectural heritage, reflecting its long and rich history, and is an ideal starting point for discovering the diversity and riches of the South of France. We look forward to welcoming you for a complete change of scenery. A wide range of destinations are less than an hour's drive away. Numerous sightseeing tours.

We spent a fabulous two weeks here at the end of June. The villa was situated near to all amenities in a lovely sunny spot. The pool was fantastic and the villa catered for all your needs. The hosts were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to welcome you. The location was perfect for exploring Provence. Being close to Villeneuve-lès-Avignon meant eating out at lovely restaurants was effortless. We will definitely come again.

Monfleur is a comfortable villa with a lovely garden which includes a pool and 7 hens and a sweet dog called Berlioz (these are in cages). The kitchen is well equipped with lots of great utensils. The only thing missing for us Brits Abroad was a large teapot and I must say most of the mugs were chipped which I think could easily and cheaply be replaced. There is a bus stop nearby but It is not that easy to get to Avignon on public transport as the buses do not go very regularly, so I would definitely hire a car. Our car hire company had let us down on the first day and it was very kind and hospitable of the owner to take us to the supermarket to stock up when we arrived. In the house there are signs everywhere telling you what you cannot do, which we found a little off putting - I've stayed in grander places where the owner did not feel it necessary to do this and did not list the contents in fear we might steal it! Monique and her family were always very warm and kissed us three times each time we met, which I thought was lovely. Merci Monique et famille! Lucinda

Beautiful house, felt like home away from home! Lovely pool and safe for children, quiet location in a suburb but easy access to Avignon as well as the beautiful Luberon villages. Easy reach of shops and supermarkets. Lovely friendly owners who couldn't do enough to help and make our stay enjoyable! Thank you Monique!!

I just returned from a perfect week at Villa Monflour. The villa and our hosts were perfect. Villa Monflour is perfectly positioned just 15 minutes from Avignon and 10 minutes from the beautiful village of Villeneuve with it's enchanting street cafes and lovely restaurants . A great spot for exploring the region too. Our host Monica is an accomplished artist and wine expert and was super helpful with anything that we needed during our stay. A spotlessly clean villa with a beautiful and well maintained pool. We are a pretty demanding group of travellers and the fact that we are already planning our next stay says it all !

We recently returned from a wonderful week in this beautiful home. We spent the week with our adult children and their spouses and everyone agreed that we could not have made a better choice. The home is well-equipped and at the end of a quiet street. We enjoyed the ease with which we were able to take day trips to the lovely towns in Provence and return in the afternoon to enjoy the perfect weather and beautiful pool and grounds. The landscaping around Monique's special oasis was park like. She was extremely accommodating and kind. There were fresh fruits and vegetables available upon our arrival. The fresh eggs from the resident hen were delicious. The home is close to restaurants and grocery stores. The charcuterie in Les Angles hand cut steaks for us one night for dinner. The most memorable part of our trip was the owner. She did everything she could to make sure that we had a wonderful trip.....and we certainly did. It was a week that we will never forget. Thank you, Monique.

From the beauty of the pictures online to the sight of the real thing was the making of our holiday in Avignon/Les Angles. The layout of the house was superb, making it very easy for us all to have space yet be together. The villa is secluded at the end of a cul-de-sac, surrounded by trees; the garden is stunning in June with oleander, pelargoniums, petunias, lavendar - everything in bloom. The weather was perfect and so we spent all out time outside. The large dining area sheltered by the overhanging roof from sun (and non-existant rain) was conveniently just a step fom the kitchen. And two metres beyond was the pool which was perfect for small toddlers one end and large frolicking people the other. The bus into Avignon is five minutes away so no parking problems in town. The owners were really lovely, ready to talk if you can speak French or not!, and only to ready to come to our help at a moment's notice. They made us feel very welcome and I cannot recommend the villa too highly. We all want to go back next year. We just need another family wedding so we have a good excuse to return. Sue

Just returned from this wonderful villa where I spent a week with 6 members of my family including a 2 year old. We had the most wonderful time and would happily go back again. The owners are just delightful. They were staying in the annex during our stay and were warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable but they were also discrete and let us make the space our own. We arrived to a fridge with the essentials including a bottle of the local rose wine and one morning we awoke to a beautiful basket of fresh bread and pastries with a kind note which was exactly what we needed (the morning after the night before). The villa is ornately and beautifully decorated and still very homely. It was also spotless and aeverything looked brand new. Great kitchen with everything you need (including nespresso machine). The property has lots of different spaces to hang out. The TV is enormous which went down well with the world cup enthusiasts. There's a barbeque at the back and dining tables where it's nice to eat at midday out of the sun. In the evening we used the dining table at the front (the pool side). The pool now has a fence around it for safety. It was perfect for having a toddler. About 15% of the pool is very shallow (and flat not sloping) which was also great for a toddler to play easily and safely. The villa is at the end of a road and has other houses nearby but because of the trees and shrubs it feels like a little oasis of calm. In mid June the flowers were all in bloom. There's a large supermarket a short drive or 10-15m walk away and at the back of the house a forest with trails for walking or running. Couldn't recommend this villa highly enough.
