About this house rental
Casa Primavista is ideal for 5 people. The modern house has high quality furnishings and can be centrally heated if needed. The floors are made of barefoot-friendly wood parquet. It has 2 bedrooms; one with a double bed, the other with a sleeper sofa and a cozy loft bed. The beds are equipped with latex mattresses that are good for your back. The very cozy kitchenette is made of wood and marble and will also be suitable for demanding cooks (toaster, water cooker, mixer, ceramic counters, oven, large refrigerator with a separate freezer, coffee machine…). The light living room is connected to the kitchen and has several windows that reach from the ground to the ceiling and offer breathtaking views. Casa Primavista has a large wooden patio in a Californian style – here you will have breathtaking views of the wild, ethnic landscape and the Atlantic.

Since most of the reviews are written in German (and the homeowners are German) I think it's time to open up this gem to non-German speaking travelers to La Palma. Casa Primavista is located on the west side of the island, about 90 minutes away from the airport. The nature of the island is such that you won't find very many properties with immediate access to the sea--but in Casa Primavista you have a superb view of the ocean about 800 meter below and about 2 kilometers out, as the crow flies.
We traveled to La Palma at the end of October/beginning of November 2017. During that time one can expect the "wet" season to have set in, but we lucked out and enjoyed sunshine and dry conditions every day. We were told that it was much too dry for this time of the year and that the normal rains haven't arrived. The area surrounding Casa Primavista looked like a tinderbox, and coming from the US I had to think of our recent wildfires in California and other states. The pine trees surrounding the house were green, but the almond trees looked pretty dead and even the cactus were suffering. So, the view was not of a verdant emerald island as one might expect.
We had breakfast daily on the porch, with the sun coming over the hill around 9 am. From then on, you will have sun for the remainder of the day. There are four chairs and a solid table to have breakfast and dinner (which we did outside on several evenings). Oddly enough, there was hardly any wind at this high elevation, in the middle of the Atlantic. Temperatures were such that we could use the two chaise lounges in the late afternoons and watch the sunset without getting chilled; one day it was a little cooler and we just used some of the comfy throw blankets that the house offers.
Most evenings we cooked at home. The kitchen is fully equipped, there's a big refrigerator with freezer compartment, and there are plenty of dishes, pots, etc. I always travel with my own knives since I like to cook, and like pretty much every rental place that I have been to, Casa Primavista had dull knives that don't cut too well. I also travel with a spice kit, but that was really not needed as the kitchen had an assortment of spices.
The house is totally quiet, with no road noise. It is isolated from neighbors, so you have total privacy. Nevertheless, in five minutes you can be in Puntagorda (by car) where there are several grocery stores. Access is via a super steep paved road to the main highway. Overall, AAA+++!

Wir waren zum 6. Mal auf La Palma und hatten uns erstmalig für den Nord-Osten entschieden. Nach 1,5 Stunden Fahrtzeit vom Flughafen klappte die Abholung durch die Vermieterin super. Wir wurden sehr nett aufgenommen und waren begeistert, als wir die Casa Primavista sahen. Es ist ein sehr schönes Haus für einen geruhsamen Familienurlaub. Das Haus liegt traumhaft schön inmitten der Natur. Puntagorda liegt 5 Autominuten entfernt und man kann ab dem Haus wandern. Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und die Ausstattung, insbesondere Küche, super. Da wir etwas Pech mit dem Wetter hatten, lud uns die wunderschöne Terasse nur an 2 Tagen zum Verweilen ein. Einen Schlechtwettertag verbrachten wir im Haus, welches dazu einlud, zu lesen, Musik zu hören, DVD´s zu betrachten usw. Unsere Kinder im Teenageralter haben die 1 Woche Wandern und Faulenzen trotz der einsamen Lage sehr genossen. Wir können die Casa Primavista sehr gut weiter empfehlen und freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen.
