The Villas Del Mar Beach Resort apartment it's a beautiful renovated beach Garden Villa (No Stairs- first floor), right in front of the main pool, with all conveniences in a safe gated community and private beach. Only 25 minutes from the San Juan International Airport, 40 minutes to Old San Juan, 15 minutes from the tropical forest "El Yunque" and the famous beach of "Luquillo".
The apartment is a first floor walkup with two balconies, beautiful garden, just right next to one of the completely renovated swimming pool.You can walk to the beach a few minutes inside the Resort .Fully furnished with free WiFi Internet and filtered water. Includes a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry room with washer and dryer and your own private terrace with BBQ. The whole apartment has air conditioning and large ceiling fans, blackout curtains for a pleasant sleep, 3 bedrooms with two queen size beds, one full-twin bunk bed, plus one futon bed, and wall to wall mirrored closets. Beds have premium mattress and premium pillow top mattresses, quality linens, bath towels, shower gel, shampoo, and other amenities.

Only 25 minutes from the San Juan International Airport (Luis Munoz Marin). All of these are located minutes from the Resort and are spectacular.
Also, public beaches like Carolina, Luquillo or Seven Seas in Fajardo, are great with calmer waters, showers, bathrooms and parking. On the South Playa Santa in Guánica, Buyé in Cabo Rojo, Combate in Cabo Rojo or a day at Caja de Muertos from Ponce (there is a private boat that takes you there for the day). Also, you can check daily snorkeling trips from Fajardo to Culebra or Icacos.
Also you can spend a day at ElYunque, Old San Juan, kayak o paddle board at the Condado Lagoon, drive to Cayey for the pork route to eat roasted pork, arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) and all the wonderful foods sold at Guavate. You can combine Guavate with a short easy hike at Charco Azul in Patillas. Consider Ponce, or the Camuy Caverns, Toro Verde for zip lining, for a day trip. Also, close by Carabalí for go carts, horseback riding or four tracks. You can eat over Carabali or close by at Don Pepe or at the Luquillo Kiosks.

The house was perfect. Only thing that I didn’t like was the access to breakable things for a toddler. We had to move a lot of things so they didn’t break. The next park has nothing to do with the owners. This was just an inside to what we saw and experienced that might help other people when picking this location. The pool seemed dirty so we never went to it. We also didn’t appreciate all the dogs everywhere. The beach is not accessible to handicap people. It also is dangerous to go down there if you are little or a much older person with stability issues. It wasn’t that close to San Juan as I thought it was. With traffic it could anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic. My husband is a 3 time war vet and there was gun shots and fireworks that went off multiple times a night. This was very hard on him.

The apartment was clean but we were disappointed with the beach which was eroding and had a lot of debris in the sand and water. The listing does not show newer pictures of the current state of the beach. The area isn’t very walkable as it seemed sketchy and we even sometimes heard shots at night. The community is gated so inside the complex we felt safe. I would definitely recommend renting a car if staying here at least you can drive to other beaches and get food.
