Beautiful beachfront house with character

Again great stay in Grau du Roi

We stayed 3 days in Grau du roi. The house was perfect. The owner of the house lives next door and is a friendly host. The great surprise has been the town of Grau du roi that has always been a touristic place and I had low expectations in terms of restaurants. There are plenty of excellent restaurants with ok prices, serving sea food as well as local bull meat. Wine is really cheap and top quality (local wine picpoul, costière de Nîmes, viognier).

We've spent one week in Grau du Roi (2 adults, one child). We had an amazing time in the house away from work. The house was in very good shape, we had everything we needed. The weather was extremely hot so luckily we could use the Patio for having Breakfast and Apéro. Groceries an Shop's for Souvenirs were right around the corner. To get to the Beach we had maximum one minute to walk. The Beach wasn't crowded, so there was enough space for pleasant sunbathing and swimming. The Beach ist Perfect for Kids, cause in the around first 30 meters the Water was only waisthigh. There're enough things, which are interesting for family's with kids, such as Seaquarium, Minigolf, Renting 4-wheel bikes, etc. It was difficult for us to leave since we all had gotten used to be there but we also left very relaxed and happy. The organisation (info, check-in, check-out, etc.) was flawless and we all are looking forward to our next trip Grau-du-Roi. Thanks a lot for having in your house.

The house is well maintained and comfortable a short stroll from the sea. It is in the middle of French tourist seaside town humming with restaurants and shops. The outside walled garden was completely quiet and an oasis from the sunny, busy main streets. There was no noise at night so rest was easy. Parking is in a car park (approx 40Euros per week) as the house is in a pedestrianised area. Refuse collections are daily-which was a nice surprise for us Brits who are not used to this. There is no air con which was not a problem in September for us but I would usually look for this especially in earlier months. There is plenty of kitchen equipment although there were not many wine glasses and they were not fine rimmed. We found it easy to visit Grande Motte, Agues Mortes, Montpellier etc We were struck by the different atmosphere of neighbouring villages and towns, with much diversity. We found the people of this region to be very friendly and the food was always good. We could feel that the owners had spent their energy making this house pretty and homely with some delightful touches. Other holidaymakers we could hear were usually French and ranging over all age groups.
