The property is situated within walking distance of Gurnard Village where you will find the small supermarket, coffee shop, Gurnard Press restaurant and The Portland Inn public house. The safe sand/shingle beach has rock pools, and at low tide you can walk along the shore to nearby Cowes. Also located here is the friendly Gurnard Sailing club, the major dinghy sailing club on the island. A footpath leads you onto a cliff walk west into Thorness Bay, and is part of the coastal path around the island. You can also stroll along the promenade to Old Town of Cowes which will take 30 to 40 minutes, passing the beach and colourful beach huts and cafes.

A short stroll will lead you to The Woodvale a family-friendly waterfront pub, and a wonderful place to watch the beautiful sunsets across the Solent. The pub overlooks the village green, an ideal place for children to play. The world famous resort of Cowes is a pleasant waterfront walk away, along the Princes Esplanade. Cowes is the home of yachting, famous as one of the world's main yachting centres, and in August hundreds come to race and enjoy the bustling nightlife. Cowes Marina and Yacht Haven are both ideal locations for those with an interest in yachting, or simply those wishing to soak up the great atmosphere. Cowes Parade is an interesting place at any time of year to watch passing ships. The town centre has an abundance of small shops and supermarkets, with a varied choice of fine cafes, pubs and restaurants.

This is the perfect home for an enjoyable relaxing holiday on the Isle of Wight.

Very pretty little house, very clean, extremely well equipped kitchen, lovely enclosed garden which was great for the dogs. Short walk to the sea wall and beach, you can walk to the main beach at low tide. Cowes is a 40 minute walk or short taxi ride. Great base for exploring the island.

Nice location lovely view across the solent could see the main land on a good day very handy for a visit to Cowes, parking for one car can be a bit difficult at times if you have a large car .

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We had a maintenance issue during our stay but this was dealt with quickly and efficiently by the friendly team. A great place to relax by the sea or in the garden and lots to do on the island - nothing is very far away!

This house has such potential to be a great holiday home - the location is wonderful, the rooms are large and layout of the house is fab. However, upon arrival the house had clearly only had a very light clean. There was white dog hair everywhere and we had to clean the bath before using it. The shower tray didn’t drain when using it and there was a strong drainage smell in both bathrooms. The slats on the main bed were broken when we arrived but the agent sent someone to fix it straight away the next day. The velux windows didn’t open in most rooms which made the house stuffy - those windows that did open were covered in thick dust which fell out onto the beds below when you opened the windows. The kitchenware also needs a big upgrade…the cutlery was peeling off and the chinaware was in bad shape. Only three bowls for a house that sleeps 6 people. We also found two set mouse traps in the low kitchen cupboard upon arrival which were very dangerous for children so had to move them immediately. The house needs a deep clean and replacing of some kitchenware, a little TLC and it would then be great!
