About this apartment rental

Situated in Borgo Ognissanti, historic district of Florence, this apartment is completely and tastefully renovated in 2015, offers the perfect alchemy for a pleasant stay in the city "Machiavellian" par excellence.
A few steps from Santa Maria Novella Station, La Dependance Machiavelli enjoys a strategic location, being only a 7-minute walk from the Duomo and all main places of artistic interest. Easily accessible for those arriving by car.
Attention to detail, the apartment is located on the second floor (no elevator) of a small building.
The very welcoming entrance, looks out from a part of a large and bright double bedroom, the other side instead opens onto a large living room / kitchen area where a beautiful stone veneer stands on one wall giving the environment one New Yorker loft style.
The room is furnished with a table for 4/6 people, sofa bed, and LCD TV (42 ") and a soundlink bose for you to listen your favourite music.
The peninsula kitchen is equipped with all comforts, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and Nespresso machine for great coffee.Complete the apartment a bathroom equipped with every convenience including a double glass shower and a washbasin in Corian with back-lit mirror. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, WI-FI high speed cable radio to listen to your favorite music and relax after a day immersed in the culture and beauty of Florence.

Apartment was fantastic and perfect for our 5-day stay in Florence. Location was brilliant - close to everything including train station, which allowed us to maximise our time as tourists. Pierpaolo was wonderful to deal with, friendly, helpful, gave us great ideas and suggestions, checked up on us during our stay, and went so far above and beyond our expectations. He was a fabulous host!The apartment was well fitted with everything we needed for our stay, and everything was perfectly clean and nice and modern.We found lovely, reasonably priced restaurants close by, and supermarket and fabulous little coffee shop right downstairs. Perfect place, perfect host and a perfect stay in Florence. Highly recommend this property.

My husband and I had a lovely stay in the apartment. Pierpaulo went above and beyond to assure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Pierpaulo helped us book several tours and was a wonderful guide. The apartment was spacious, very clean and modernized. The location was conveniently located near the train station and very easy to walk to. We easily walked to all other locations throughout the city from the apartment as well. We would definitely return to this apartment for another trip.

We could not have asked for a more centrally located location or more communicative, helpful and friendly host. The apartment is lovely and incredibly comfortable and cozy. Just steps from the apartment is a wonderful bakery, a grocery store, and nearly everything you could want from Florence. We will be back!

Pia Paulo was a great host, met us at the property, had a map for us to show the local sites and places to eat, it really is very well situated, well equipped, nicely decorated 15 minutes from various popular sites, plenty of places to eat, stunning squares to discover, highly recommend

My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, functional, spacious one bedroom apartment. The host, Pierpaolo, is amazing. He met us for an early check in, carried our luggage up the 33 stairs, spent an hour with us familiarizing us with apartment and areas of Florence to visit, and sharing his favorite restaurants-even making reservations where desired. His English is great and he is so very helpful and caring; checking on us through texts many times on our four night stay.The apartment is in a great location close to the train station and city center. The bed was comfortable, air-conditioning worked great and it had a big shower, closet space, large vanity. There is a wonderful bakery two doors away and a grocery store three doors away.We ate our breakfasts in the apartment -even reheated our pizza leftovers in the oven. We have traveled frequently throughout Europe and this was one of our best lodging experiences. It is nice to get out of the crowds hustle bustle of the city into a spacious, quiet unit and feel so taken care of. Thank you Pierpaolo-Ciao

We booked the apartment for 5 days and it was everything in the description and more! Pierpaolo made us feel welcome from the moment we booked it, sharing insights about Florence, recommendations on restaurants and info on how to make our trip better. He also checked frequently with us to see how we were doing. The apartment's location is perfect, minutes walking to every mayor attraction, we walked everywhere! Also, the BEST bakery and a great coffee shop are right underneath the apartment. We stated each day with a fresh cappuccino and pastries. This will be our go to place in Florence!

We've travelled extensively and Pierpaolo is the best host we've ever had by a huge margin. We stayed at his apartment for 15 days and felt completely at home in this beautiful city. His apartment is impeccable and he makes certain that your visit includes everything you could imagine, from a beautiful, safe & secure home away from home, connections and introductions to wonderful friends who provide guided tours, fabulous restaurants tailored to your tastes, wine shops and transportation. He even greeted us upon our arrival and took our luggage up to his apartment. He arranged taxies and stayed in touch without ever being obtrusive. He is always available and incredibly pleasant to deal with. A true gentleman and wonderful representative of Florentine culture. We would recommend Pierpaolo and his property to our best friends and anyone who wants to experience Florence and its culture.

The accommodation was in a great location, with a small but well stocked supermarket a couple of doors down, easy walking distance from tram and train services and to all the best sites in Florence. Apartment was modern, spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable. Pierpaolo couldn’t have done more to make us welcome. Will definitely be back. We highly recommend this property.

This is an extraordinary apartment. Probably the best we have stayed during our trips. Exquisitely decorated. Excellent details everywhere. The bathroom is beautiful and comfortable. The living area is just beautiful and ample, recently renovated and well maintained. The bedroom is also very comfortable. Excellent bed. Well designed closets. Pierpaolo was very helpful. He met us when we arrived and helped us inside. He made sure we were all set and even dealt with the car rental company for us. He offered to reserve at the major museums (recommended) and was clearly available to assist us with all our requests. We highly recommend this apartment and were sorry to depart after only five days! The apartment is well located near the Arno and proximate to luxurious hotels. The walk to the center of town, to Piazza della Signoria- is about 10-15 minutes. But it is an interesting walk with nice shops and restaurants. Again, this is a wonderful place with a wonderful host.

Pierpaolo is exceptional. He mapped out places for us to walk, run, and eat. He made reservations for us for dinner. He drove us to the airport. His home is beautiful and in walking distance from all the best food and sights. His apartment is incredibly spacious and clean. Highly recommend staying here!

Just amazing! The best part is Machiavelli himself, an amazing amazing host who brings the Italian friendliness to the whole experience. This is not to diminish at all the apartment itself, its location, or its convenience. The apartment is gorgeous and super clean and comfortable. My bride wanted to take pics all over and share with her family! The location is smack in the heart of Florence! We walked to the dome and across the river. It's also unbelievably convenient: There are two cafes and a supermarket literally ten seconds walk from the building (they are in the building itself or neighboring buildings). There's even a good low budget indian (halal) place a few steps away, and like six really good italian restaurants. Just an amazing place all around. I couldn't recommend it more.

Wonderful accommodation in a great location with easy access/walking distance to numerous attractions, shops and restaurants in the heart of Florence. Very clean, modern and comfortable; great value overall. The owner met us on arrival and was very pleasant - offering helpful advice on where to spend our short amount of time in this beautiful city - even called to reserve tickets for us at the Ufizzi Gallery. Would not hesitate to recommend this property!

This is a modern clean apartment within walking distance from the train and a block from the river. It was easy to get to the center of the city yet nice to be away from the crowds. When we arrived there was fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for us in addition to some juice and bottled water in the fridge. There is a cafe below and we woke up to the lovely smell of baked goods.my husband enjoyed the espresso there and I loved the pastries. There was also a small grocery store a few doors down. Pierpaolo was a wonderful host and made us feel so welcome. His english was perfect. He gave us his contact number for any questions or problems and we did have to use it once when we had an issue with the lock box. He also helped us make reservations at a very popular restaurant. We rented a car and the agency was right down the road. It couldn't have been more perfect and is so much better than staying in a hotel. Thanks Pierpaolo.

Our week in Dependance Machiavelli is a memory we will treasure forever. The apartment is ideally located near the train station and within a short walk of the city's historic sites, it is perfectly suited for 2 people, and the basket of fruit and bottle of wine that greeted us was a nice touch. Then there was our host, the young, dynamic, enthusiastic and always helpful Pierpaolo. He welcomed us warmly to the apartment and his city, and was kind enough to give us an early morning drive to the airport. In short, we highly recommend Dependance Machiavelli to anyone looking for a great vacation in Florence.--Mike and Jim
