House of 60m ², renovated and decorated by its owner, architect, in vineyard houses facing south, located in a wooded 500 sqm bordering troglodyte sites in the town of Bourré.
The decoration is neat with objects taken during travels, paintings, beautiful furniture, crockery and selected objects, marrying the old with the contemporary, offering conditions of a privileged and refined everyday life.
The restoration was carried out with noble and ecological materials: lime, wood, local stone-the tuffeau, tomettes, colors based on pigments. The insulation of the walls and roofs, the double glazing, as well as the comfort with the contemporary equipment and equipments, bring to the house with the greatest care the luxury and the pleasure of the relaxation and the well-being.
The land consists of terraces furnished with fruit trees and ornaments. It is surrounded by fields and woods. The house is not suitable for young children (from 7 or 8 years old) or for elderly people with walking difficulties. the quiet and pleasant place, ideal place of vacancy, rest, activities. Lovers of fishing will enjoy the river and ponds. The center of Montrichard with its shops, restaurants and Friday's market is 2 km from the most important town. the house is located in height, access is in a dead end with a hairpin turn that is difficult, a parking space is provided.

We spent a fantastic week in this beautiful, quirky house. It was very well maintained and equipped and we were warmly welcomed by Christelle, a friend of the owners, who gave us lots of helpful information and was on hand if needed. It's quiet garden and terrace with stunning views over the river was all the more perfect because of the luxury of our own pool right at the back door. It is perfectly placed for visiting the chateaux and quaint towns in the area. Less than 5 minutes in the car from Montrichard with its shops and restaurants and within walking distance of a small but amazing restaurant built into the hillside.
One thing to note is that the access road is VERY steep, narrow and angled but you could always leave your car at the bottom of the hill! After a day or so you get used to the ascent! Also , make sure you have exact details of the address as it is not obvious on arrival in the village.
This house is a real find - it was hard to drag ourselves away from the pool to do some sightseeing! We will definitely be back next time we visit this region. Many thanks for a memorable stay.

We had a lovely time staying here, we came with our Bicycles and explored the area, visited some wonderful places and then came back to relax in the garden or cool down in the pool. We watched the hot air balloons landing across the river in the evening, it is a quirky and very special place and we very much enjoyed staying here. one of the more interesting, original and unusual places we have visited.

We stayed in this wonderful home in summer 2015, with our 3 children & dog.
The accommodation was exactly as described & we had a wonderful week. We enjoyed lots of walks & occasional canoe trips. (Although these were expensive)
The views from the terrace were beautiful as we enjoyed many relaxing evenings in the garden.
A perfect rental, for a relaxing quiet holiday, but also a good location if you choose to have an active holiday, with plenty of options to go canoing, cycling or walking.
