Solmate - A Beachfront Bungalow on Folly

We call her “Solmate” because we believe she’s the perfect beach getaway for those families and friends looking to create wonderful, intimate, and forever memories while at Folly Beach. Situated at the far end of the island, on the quietest stretch of sand, you’ll enjoy fellowship and serenity while soaking in the gorgeous views of ocean and beach from this quaint, 4 bedroom, 2 bath, beach-front bungalow. Although she retains a lot of the original character of her 1970's construction, Solmate has been completely renovated for modern day comfort and style.

She is our family's cherished beach retreat so availability is intentionally limited to preserve the home's boutique quality and condition. We welcome you to enjoy it during the limited number of weeks it's open each year!

Beach living at Solmate is conveniently all on one floor. The master bedroom with its wonderful ocean views and private access to the back deck has a king bed while two other bedrooms have queen beds. The master shares a full bathroom with the second queen bedroom. The third bedroom has a queen bed as well and has a view of the front garden. There is also one larger bedroom with 2 full beds that works well for children or adults. The two full bathrooms each have a tub that makes bathing children easier. The kitchen is fully equipped including French press coffee maker as well as traditional drip style/Kcup combo, waffle maker, and Ninja blender. If you don’t feel like cooking, don’t worry, there are fabulous restaurants nearby for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Although Solmate is very child friendly with step stool in bathroom, booster seat, and pack n/play, please know that pets and smoking are not allowed. Also, out of respect for our neighbors and owners, no events are allowed that exceed the maximum occupancy of the home. Must be 25 years old or older to rent.

For your enjoyment there is an outdoor shower on the back deck, charcoal grill and plenty of private parking. Also provided are Turkish beach towels, beach chairs, plush bath towels and luxury bed linens (with cozy, down duvets in our colder months) throughout the home for your comfort.....please enjoy them.

The Folly Pier, completely replaced in 2023 with restaurant/bar, and Center Street with all the shops and restaurants are only a 20 minute walk down the beach or 5 minute golf cart ride. A 10 minute walk in the opposite direction up the beach lands you in the county park and provides for the most amazing sunsets in Charleston. No matter where you are on the beach, keep a look out for the dolphins....they are everywhere. And if you like a treasure hunt, there is no limit to the number of sharks’ teeth found in the sand.
