About this villa rental
Relax at the Traverse du Bonheur in a peaceful environment at the foot of the Albères mountains and the sounds of cicadas.
The completely private property is located at the entrance to a village dating from the 9th century in a wine-growing area. The place invites you to relax and a large swimming pool will allow you to cool off on hot summer days. A large flower garden as well as a stream (the Napoleon canal) runs alongside the grounds and gives it a romantic air. The property has several fruit trees: grapefruit, lemons, oranges, cherries and peaches.
The villa is very bright and composed of open air. On the ground floor, you will find a large, very well-equipped kitchen, a large living room opening onto the terrace and fitted with 2 sofa beds, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a WC and the laundry room. On the 1st floor, there is a bedroom and a bathroom with a nice view of the mountains and the swimming pool. The terrace seats 8 people comfortably at the table and is equipped with an electric retractable roof. You can also take advantage of the BBQ to cook and share good meals with family and friends.
For the children, you have left a large toy box and bicycles so that they can spend a wonderful holiday having fun. The pool is fenced for their safety.
The house is equipped with air conditioning, mosquito nets on the windows and the swimming pool is heated for your comfort.
The village of St-Génis-Fontaines has an IX abbey and 3 Languedoc-Roussillon wine cellars. We are located a few minutes drive from the Spanish border and the most beautiful beaches in the region.

We loved staying in this open spacious villa. It had fantastic pool and family spaces and was incredibly clean and comfortable. A very well provisioned kitchen made cooking a pleasure! I’d say that a car is essential for the location but it’s in a great spot to enjoy everything the coast has to offer. A special shout out to the Bistro des Alberes (Jerome and Marie) who may have the best bar in the world in the prettiest square in the village. Ten minutes walk from the villa and one of the highlights of our holiday!

We had a great 2 week holiday. The property owner and manager were both extremely helpful and responsive in all aspects of the booking.
The house itself is brilliant - very clean and well equipped with lots of space and effective air conditioning.
The pool is large and cleaned twice a week.
In terms of location it's hard to beat as you get the best of both worlds - house is on the edge of a small town (only 7-8 walk from shops) with amazing views of the Alberes mountains, but only 15 mins drive away from the coastal towns of Collioure and Argelès-sur-Mer.
There is so much to do for all ages but we didn't get to visit everything we had planned, so aiming to return again! The property is so comfortable it really is a home from home.
