About this house rental

Just renovated! Our place is close to parks, restaurants and long lake. From here you are less than 15min to the beach, the lake or downtown. Use this as a home base while exploring Vancouver Island. Our place is good for couples, business travellers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
3 Bedroom upper floor of house, full kitchen, washer and dryer. about 1200 sq/ft Dogs are welcome there is a green space out back that is good for kids and animals. 2 King size beds 1 Queen size as well as a queen air bed. We offer WiFi and Netflix and a portable air conditioner. We are centrally located near shopping and Restaurants.
A quick trip to the ocean or the lake. You can explore the island from here, Tofino on the west coast, Mt Washington for a day of skiing, the beautiful beaches of Parksville, Bungy jumping at Wild Play, World famous Chemainus murals or a trip down to Victoria our capitol city. We also have world class scuba diving, excellent fishing, kayaking, hiking and mountain biking.

This home easily accommodated six of us for a family gathering. The location is convenient. We did a lot of cooking, the open concept meant we could all visit while cooking and playing board games, etc. The 2 king beds and one queen are really comfortable. The driveway is steep but allows you to drive right through without having to back out. We would definitely recommend this home.

Very clean and well equipped. Super comfortable beds. Wasn’t crazy about the driveway, but was informed of the steepness ahead of time, host was truly transparent. Other tenant trades us spots which made it much better

The property is clean and very centrally located. We appreciated that it had an air-conditioner. It is well furnished and well equipped. As commented by otheres, the steep driveway was indeed a challenge. The owner was very quick to respond when we emailed regarding certain needs, i.e. the blinds not working and the circuit breaker which tripped.Although a washer dryer was available, no laundry detergent was provided. Also, the supply of dishwasher detergent was inadequate. Otherwise, we would have rated this place excellent. We would definitely recommend this and if ever we returned to Nanaimo, we would love to stay here again.

We had a lovely time at this house. Super clean, super central to all the things we wanted to do (beach, hikes, etc). Well stocked kitchen, huge soft beds and all the necessary amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc). Quiet property and the kitchen/living room faces a quiet green forest. Craig and Tricia were very easy to get a hold of. My daughters and I had a relaxing time!

The property could use some tlc. The drive way was very steep and difficult to park in. The back porch had boards coming up, needed repairs, and was dirty. The kitchen pans needed to be replaced and there was only 1 dish towel. We were disappointing. Location was good and communication was great.

My family stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful experience. The home was clean, quiet, and comfortable — exactly as described, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location was perfect: peaceful yet close to shops, walking trails, and the ocean. The host was responsive and check-in was smooth. I felt right at home and would definitely stay here again. This was my first time booking a house over a hotel and I am so glad i did.

Property was not as described in the listing. Had to face the following issues during our stay.1. the home was giving a bad and stale smell whenever we entered the home everyday during our stay.2. the mattresses are awful - too soft with no springs for support and most of us in our group have developed back aches.3. Never came across such a small shower in the master bedroom with hardly any space to move around.4. While taking shower several times the water flow was either giving extreme hot or cold water though it was initially adjusted for warm water. Suddenly the water temperature changes and there was no space to escape in the small shower. In the process we had to suffer from hot burns.5. The frying pan was very dirty and we did not feel like using it.6. A very old and flimsy cutting board was provided which did not serve the purpose.7. Could not use the Keurig coffee machine as it was indicating 'descale'. this needs to be fixe so future guests can use it.8. Cooking range was old and the surface needs deep cleaning.9. Dishwasher was very old and the start button was broken and we were not sure if it worked when the button was pressed.10. Location of the property was just ok.11.As described at several places it was difficult to park the car in the drive way and therefore we just parked it on the road side near the property.12. The code given to open the home did not work initially but the owner responded and opened the door for us Will not book in future

We stayed here with our two adult grand children. The house is excellent. Bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds, the kitchen is well appointed and the balcony looks onto a green space. I recommend going for a walk along the back as there are many blackberry bushes. The living room furniture is comfortable and for all 4 of us easily. The driveway looks scarier than it actually is if you take it slowly. There are grocery stores and shopping a few minutes drive away but the area is very quiet and peaceful. My wife's comment says it all: i wish we were staying here longer instead of going to Vancouver. Will deconstruct consider again next time i come to the island.

We had a wonderful stay at this property July 18-22. The amenities were perfect for our stay during our son’s wedding with a great location that was central to everywhere we needed to be. Had a chance to have a quick chat with the owner while we were there, who was very friendly. The view from the back deck is lovely and the king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. Highly recommend this excellent property!

The location's parking is challenging with the people who live below, we were asked to park in a very specific way, which is fair as they live there, but posed some technical problems for us. This place was perfect for long stay, although the four of us were there only one night while on our way to Tofino. The driveway is steep and needs a bit of skill to park, but my adult kids had no problem. There is a nice deck to sit out back. The beds were comfortable.

We booked this as a place to stay while up in Nanaimo for a lacrosse tournament. It accommodated 3 adults, my 13 yo son and our dog. It wasn't more then 15 mins from where we were playing. Lots of stuff near by. Was a great neighborhood to take the dogs for a walk. Kitchen was well stocked with all the things we needed for cooking which was fantastic. Beds were comfy. We really enjoyed our stay and will 100% keep this place in mind for next time. If you chose to stay here, you will not be disappointed!!!

The house was beautiful and had lots of items in the kitchen including most spices, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, coffee maker with coffee and cream/sugar, microwave, pots and pans, baking dishes etc. There were clean linens in both the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and even had shampoo, conditioner, body wash and toiletries for us to use. Lots of instructions provided in the house for garbage, recycling, where to park, etc. (not the heater but after calling him we got it working). They left us a tv, internet, some books, toys, WII U with games, phone chargers, etc. The only issue we had was the mold smell when we opened the washer/dryer or looked under the master bathroom sink. We solved this issue easily by opening all the windows to let in fresh air. The driveway is very steep but we had an suv so we were able to park in the upper spot (not on the street). They left the front porch light on for us which helped because we arrived at night. The renters downstairs were very quiet. Lovely and easy to find neighbourhood. Also, lots of information about the area. too. Very well set up for families.
