Up there in the garden - Villa with sea and mountain views - Deshaies

What a wonderful property, such great views and extremely comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay! The property is very well located — just a short walk to the supermarket and only a 5-minute drive to some of the best beaches in the area. The hosts were the most gracious and friendly people we could have hoped for, making us feel welcome right from the start. The villa was spotlessly clean, with a fantastic view to enjoy throughout our stay. A very nice touch was the fresh fruit, a delicious planter punch, refreshing goyave juice, and even a beautiful flower arrangement waiting for us upon arrival. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place!

Perched on the side of a hill, the house has an amazing view above Deshaies, looking onto the ocean and the forested hills. The house is very spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The host was very responsive and gave us all the info we needed and her lovely mother was there to welcome us when we arrived. If we ever get the chance to come back to Guadeloupe, I would love to stay there again. Merci!

The house is located on a hill and facing the Caribbean Sea which allows a nice view of the Deshaies harbor. It is 3 min drive from village center (difficult to walk because the hill is very steep) where the restaurants and food stores are, 7 min drive to Grand Anse beach, and 15 min drive to Perle beach. We felt the area was very safe. The house and the garden are very clean and well maintained. Large parking space (2 - 3 cars) and easy driveway access. The kitchen is well equipped having all modern appliances. Excellent veranda for eating and/or spending time. Emily was responsive to our inquires, arranging for dinner for the day we came and providing info about the surroundings. However, there are few important drawbacks which makes me to drop two stars: - all three beds/mattresses had to be replaced long time ago: the mattress supports are very thin/flimsy and in time the mattress developed a depth in the middle; for one person it might be ok but for two people the sleep is very uncomfortable; - the hot water reservoir does not have the capacity for 6 people (as perhaps in all Guadeloupe, there is no boiler, water is heated by the sun); - the drainage of the shower adjacent to the master bedroom partially clogged - no beach towels provided. .
