About this cabin rental

Surf Haven Unit A is a 2 bedroom (queen beds), 1 bath beach retreat good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers & families (with kids). In March 2024 we completed a kitchen renovation with new cabinets/counter, new flooring, fresh paint and new lighting, as well as upgraded the living and dining furniture.
The updates have improved the comfort, cleanliness and functionality. And it looks beautiful!
Surf Haven is located about a block from the beach and Otter Rock State Park, this quiet and walk-able neighborhood is great to explore with shops, restaurants, 2 beautiful beaches, The Devils Punch Bowl and an old growth forest all with in a block or two of the cabin. *

Community fire pit & large yard. Inquire about adding additional cabins for groups up to 12.

Clean place, nicely outfitted. Only thing is there were no plastic bags in trash cans, and 2nd outside trash can wasn't there for trash. The one outside was stuffed full.

Wanted to get the dogs to the coast. Nice set up and location for the pups. Only drawback for us was Otter Rock and surrounding beaches were very busy for week days. Too much stimulus for my dogs.. and me.

Want to keep this hidden gem a secret so it will always be available but def want the folks who run it to prosper because it's such a great spot. Perfect location, sparkling clean, very comfortable and Heather is so kind and helpful. We will stay here every time we can when we're in the area. :)

Location is perfect! A little difficult to find the first time, but Heather provided great instructions on how to find the address and where to park. Very close to Devil's Punchbowl and a safe neighborhood! Had everything you need to feel at home right down to some basic seasonings, coffee grounds and filters. We had a great stay in Surf Haven A! I would stay here again if in the area.

Our stay was excellent! With quick and easy access to the beach, proximity to so many excellent sites along coast, all in a nice, quiet neighborhood, this place was perfect as both a launching point for our adventures and as a place to unwind at the end of the day. 11/10 would recommend!

Nice little rental that sleeps 4 comfortably. Close to great ocean views and a awesome beach for surfing. Kitchen supplies were in good shape and well supplied. My only complaint would be about the box fan that was supplied but needed a deep clean.

We enjoyed being a short walk to the beach and not staying in a crowded area. The neighborhood is quiet, and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen is only stocked with the basics, so if you are fishing, be sure to bring your foil, baggies, etc.

Star rating above is not accurate - we dont know what the lodging is like as we did not see it in person . Treacherous weather and road conditions forced us to cancel our trip - host charged for both nights regardless.

We were given the wrong code and wrong room number to start with. The place looked fairly clean at first look until we went to put our things on the shelves in the bathroom. Had to wipe down the shelves prior to placing our things. We were thrilled to be able to have our pup allowed to be with us. He ended up rolling his ball under the beds and that was the scary part. You do not want to know what we found under the beds! This place is a great location . Just a couple of blocks from a beautiful beach! Great potential just needs a very thorough cleaning.

The property was in a rustic location but within walking distance to the beach and a few amenities. The cabin is older and could use a lot of repair eventually. Outside is not well maintained. All the lawn furniture was broken and unusable.

We stayed in unit A, over all it was perfect and just what we were looking for. Super easy to find, A easy 5 minute walk to one of the cleanest beaches, where you can walk for miles. A easy 8 minute drive too depoe bay. Clean and simple with a semi private yard area (shared between the other units) with a fire pit. My only complaint would be the amount of spiders that were in the unit. Outside on the building its self could definitely use a little cobweb clean up and pest control. Communication between renter was excellent. Definitely would recommend and will definitely be staying here for our future trips.

My in-laws are in their 80's and wanted to do a trip to the Coast- Daniel was so responsive and wonderful with them. They had a great time- said the place had everything you could need for a stay- great location. My husband and I are looking forward to going ourselves.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Surf Haven. It is a cute little place that perfectly met our needs for our 2-night stay. We loved being within walking distance of two beaches and just down the road from Newport. Because we didn't see an A unit or B unit when we arrived (based on the direction we arrived from), we were a bit confused about which door to use but the owners were very responsive and helped straighten us out right away. Great stay!

If you're looking for a reasonably priced, clean, comfortable stay close to but not right on the beach, this is it. Easy walking distance to paths & stairs leading to various beaches. Surfers, swimmers, dabblers, & those who just want a quiet place to get away from city life, this is it. The one thing - no outdoor chairs to lounge in, so bring you own.

Four of us there for one night. Full kitchen, large couch, and the whole place was really clean and comfortable. Proximity to the beach, grocery store, food, Newport, and Depoe Bay was so nice. Would recommend!
