Large house with 5 Bedrooms 2.5 bath sleep 12 , fully garage to use

This spacious home served us well during our family’s visit to Austin. The two main floor bedrooms meant my elderly mother and disabled son did not have to use the stairs. The large kitchen and table allowed us to gather for meals and conversation. The second floor provided a place for those who needed to pull away for a moment. One thought: those sleeping upstairs may benefit from some white noise as conversations from the main floor can easily carry to the second.

Great space. Host was communicative and polite. We had no issues and were all comfortable. 6 People total. Host thanked me after our stay for keeping the house clean in order as expected.

If you need a big house and don't have the highest of expectations, this property would be fine for you, I'm sure. Pros: There were waters in the fridge and they left good coffee for the keurig, which we really appreciate. Lots of beds, however, our family was 3 and so that wasn't really a benefit for us. Cons:The house is in a bit of disrepair. Even the roads outside the house were terrible. The garage door was broken when we got there which the host informed us of and told us that it would be fixed the next day and after traveling until late in the night there was a knock on the door at 8am sharp to let repair people into the house and we couldn't leave until they left. On the surface the house looks clean but there was dirt on the floor in the cracks, like they cleaned 'most' of it. There were crumbs on the patterned tablecloth, which were difficult to see. The vent in the upstairs bath had a half inch layer of dust. The stairs and cabinets in the kitchen are wearing away. There are cracks in the walls of the bathroom upstairs and the bedside tables were dirty. Prior to check out, The host asked me to not leave a big mess (which, I would never anyway, a little weird) as, he says, the maid would charge him more for more cleaning. I would suggest to you Ben, that you get a new cleaner regardless and do a pre- check in inspection, the cleaner is not doing a good job for you. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this VRBO.
