About this house rental
A house once a bridge connecting the island with the mainland so that one can feel the power of union and offer, then a threshing house for the hard work of threshing of grain to feel the energy of time and the value of history, but also a traditional stoned house which hosted once life from the last century to feel its warmth and welcome. So it was not at all a coincidence the name it was attributed: “The Old Beach House”.
Housed in a stone building of 1910 that was originally an important commercial station transporting local products such as olive oil, olives and salt from Crete to the Peloponnese, Kythera and the mainland of Greece - and then undertook a variety of activities: from a rain threshing for the inhabitants of the surrounding area, it finally transformed into a beach house for the last quarter of the century.
The history of this stoned house by the sea has been rewritten. In 2016 was renovated with the greatest historic respect with finesse and care making significant additions as required for a modern and comfortable accommodation.
Located on the beach only 30 meters from the sea the interior space of the house occupies 64 sqm, while the outer space unfolds on 1.5 acre. Fully renovated, it combines a discreet casual elegance of the past and all the comforts of modern times.
INTERIOR
It has 1 bedroom with double bed (king size bed), 2 bathrooms, 2 fully equipped kitchens (indoor and outdoor), and a comfortable seating lounge.
EXTERIOR
The aspect of harmony and eclectic design is completed with the swimming pool of 4,5m x 10m that has been specially designed in total harmony with nature: water lilies and bamboo form this special and unique character.
The star gazing roof top was reformed and surely adds another enjoyment element to “The Old Beach House”. After sunset it is the place that transforms into a sky for stars and constellations. Under the starry sky, comfortable pillows, and decorative elements create a unique setting to enjoy the purity of the celestial dome after sunset.
Outdoor seating area, comfortable lounges, outdoor dining and bbq are the elements that compose the outdoor relaxation areas for reading and sunbathing.
Raw natural materials and traditional modern aesthetic elements in earthy tones put their signature and form a space of high aesthetics and comfort that invites you to meet it.
Please be aware that a 15€ per night Climate Resilience Tax is applied to all reservations from 1st of March to 30th of October.

Magical place at the end of a dirt road which overlooks a splendid bay, with authentic nature. Perfect for getting away from it all. Great team, Christos received us wonderfully. A beautiful and good experience!

The pictures tell the truth. It is a truly private and secluded property that stands alone in a small, very little frequented bay. Simply fantastic. Our go-to person Venetia was always there when needed and decent enough to never disturb - thanks a lot, Venetia. The house is well equipped, breakfast is delivered daily.
We cannot find a single thing to complain about.
After almost two weeks away from everything, this - for us - has set the standard for relaxation.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, this is a spectacular place. We highly recommend it for those of you that want to get away from it all and spend quality time at the most beautiful location.
To get there one must take a scenic route and some unhardened road at the end, but that does mean that the location where you arrive, very few others come.
The same goes for the sea: it feels like a private bay, where with watershoes you are more easy to reach the water, which again, means not many other people are willing to do.
This is a quiet spot, a fantastic getaway, and everything you need in terms of amenities is at your fingertips. Excellent service, including a phone to use locally, but the best is the daily delivered fresh breakfast in a basket!
