About this apartment rental
Le Papillon Penthouse enjoys one of the best locations on St. Martin, with many wonderful restaurants nearby and a beach that is close to private and ideal for long walks.
The building itself was finished in 2014 after a few years of planning. It was designed and built by a doctor who owned the property. The building is so well made that even with hurricane Irma we had minimal damage.
Simpson Bay Area is a great place. It is a nice combination of tourism and local culture. It used to be a fisherman's village and it still holds some of that charm. It is easy to walk to restaurants and shops so people do not need to rent a car to go to places. But when you are in the apartment or on the beach you are completely away from any outside world.
Overlooking the entire Simpson Bay beach, the comfortable 4000 sq. feet penthouse is equipped with everything a visitor might need. The long list of our luxurious amenities is shown below.

Layout of the penthouse:
The penthouse is located on the third floor of the building. And the penthouse itself takes up 3 floors, making the last floor the sixth floor of the building.
The first floor of the penthouse consists of the kitchen, living room, dinning room, one bedroom & bathroom, laundry room, powder room, and the main terrace. On the second floor you can find a master bedroom & bathroom with its own terrace and walk in closet as well as the last bedroom with its bathroom. The third floor is the roof top terrace with jacuzzi, summer kitchen, lounging and dining area.
A great selection of restaurants can be found within convenient walking distance. To name a few:
Skip Jack - local fisherman's restaurant
Top Carrot - vegetarian and healthy meals
Avantika - very elegant place with Thai cuisine
Sale & Pepe - great Italian place
Yacht Club - a great bar/restaurant to watch boats coming into the lagoon
Palapa Grill - known for great steaks and more
Atlantico - an amazing bakery
Roxxy - my personal favorite, located on Kimsha beach
Restaurants on our beach are Karakter, Mary's boon and El Zafiro.

We loved our stay at the penthouse! It looks exactly like the pictures but they don’t do it justice. The place is very clean and modern but the views from the balconies/rooftop are breathtaking. We loved having our coffee out there in the mornings. The location in Simpson Bay is fantastic and Simona the host was very responsive to questions about the area.

We stayed at the Le Papillon penthouse unit with our kids over spring break. The unit itself was fantastic. Lots of space, clean, and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. The patios were amazing. Great views and comfortable. We traveled all over the island and even took a day trip to Anguilla, the Simpson Bay beach is as nice as any around. Perfect location on the island near the airport, great beach and plenty of action but still quiet enough to get away. Our rental car was helpful but not necessary. We walked to many great restaurants nearby. The host was great as well. Very responsive and helpful. The boat rental option was well worth it. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot right on the beach!!! Recommend renting a car to get around as not really walking distance to any restaurants but there is a nice beach bar just a few minutes down from the apartment. The apartment is beautiful! Nicely decorated, spacious bedrooms, modern bathrooms. We enjoyed the rooftop for sunset! Would definitely recommend!
