About this house rental
An exceptional situation at the end of Oléron island, in the lovely village of La Brée les bains, for this nice sixties villa, very quiet in a wooded park (2.500 m² or 27.000 ft²) and very close (just cross a little street) from an almost deserted beach, the right one for children and fishing at low tide...or surfing at high tide !
You don't need a car here. You can do almost everything on foot and bikes (some are free at the house), to discover the coast, little towns and harbours on the island and in the vicinity. During summer, you can go by boat to the close islands : Ré and Aix and also to Fort Boyard and La Rochelle. You can even come by plane at La Rochelle airport and take a boat to St Denis, a little harbour at 3km from the house.
- Towels can be provided on request at an additional cost of 50 euros per stay
- Optional cleaning: 80 euros (Otherwise do the cleaning yourself).

We spent some great three weeks in this house wich was mainly due to
- Very friendly and helpful owner
- Excellent communication ahead of our arrival (conveniently all in English)
- Friendly neighbours
- Very large and beautiful garden (great for children)
- All utilities needed are in the house
- Walking to the (never crowded) beach from the gate is nearly shorter than walking to the gate from the house
- Great market for food etc. in close vicinity
- Beautiful seaside promenade from La Brée to St. Denis nearby (also great for jogging)
- All in all a beautiful island (great to discover via bicycle) - much more relaxed than Ile de Ré where we stayed the years before.
Bernard, thank you very much for these great three weeks. We definitely want to stay in this house again and would recommend this location.

fantastic setting and spacious house for a family holiday. house well equipped and great garden for children. Lots of room to play and run around in total security. Only two minutes from the beach so perfect location. Very warm welcome from owner.
