About this apartment rental
"LA CASITA" is our oceanfront condo located on the quieter northern end of Pleasure Island. The unit is on the second floor with a million dollar view of the ocean. The sunrise over the beach is spectacular. Get away from it all and feel the Atlantic Ocean breeze and walk directly out on the beach with your own private access. This is a wonderful place for your summer vacation, or a romantic weekend getaway.
Our condo is tastefully decorated, newly updated, and includes free Wi-Fi, streaming with Roku.. There are two parking spaces. Our kitchen is fully-equipped with all the necessities including a toaster, blender, Keurig coffee maker, regular coffeemaker, microwave, ample plates, glasses, wine glasses, kitchen utensils. FRESH, CLEAN BED LINENS AND TOWELS ARE INCLUDED for free - all you need to bring is your food. Your private oceanfront deck is perfect for dining, watching the dolphins play, or watching the pelicans soar.
The Master Bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and en-suite bath with a private balcony. The 2nd bedroom has a queen size bed. There is also a deluxe air mattress in the master bedroom closet. The mattresses on all beds are comfortable memory foam mattresses. There is a full hallway bath with a large washer/dryer for your convenience.
Start your mornings with a cup of coffee while watching the amazing sunrises and end your evenings with a glass of wine on the deck while listening to the gentle waves rolling in. We have a binder on the dining table which includes many brochures and restaurant menus along with some of our favorite things to do and eat. The binder also includes vacation tips and helpful information about the condo. We also provide a GIFT BAG containing sunglasses, koozies, soap, coffee K cups, 2 bottles of water and a bottle of white wine- just a few things to get your vacation started..
Take advantage of the quaint Carolina beach town which embodies coastal Americana. Take a short walk to the boardwalk, pier, beach shops, and many friendly restaurants. La Casita is also available for MONTHLY RENTAL during the off season. Contact the owner if interested.
On the ground floor there is a storage closet so you can store any beach items you bring. 6 Beach chairs, an umbrella, canopy, boogie boards and a cooler are provided for your use. Take the private wooden walkway over the dune directly to your beach.

Boardwalk - Within walking distance you'll find the newly renovated boardwalk. Ranked one of the top 10 boardwalks in the country by Food & Wine magazine, it is one of the last remaining beach boardwalks on the East Coast, where you can get your fill of famous homemade donuts, ice cream, and fudge, play in the arcade, see the ocean from the Ferris wheel, or dance the night away to live music. During the summer months, the Boardwalk is bustling with the sound of music, laughter and the squeals of kids of all ages as they whoosh and whirl past on the assortment of rides at the seaside amusement park and at extraordinary events like the weekly fireworks and concert series. Enjoy a free concert and fireworks on the boardwalk at Carolina Beach every Thursday night, weather permitting. Don't forget to go by Britt's donuts for a one of a kind experience.
Fort Fisher - Walk the battery of the Fort Fisher Civil War Battlefield located at the south end of the Island? Shop the gift shop for treasures. Enjoy the FREE Summer Concert Series at Ft. Fisher.
North Carolina Aquarium - The North Carolina Aquarium is a delight for all ages. Movies and programs for all are offered, and the staff is very helpful.
Cruise and fishing charters - Visit the Carolina Beach Marina down the street Take a sightseeing cruise or charter a fishing expedition. Anglers, the fishing is great! Fish on the beach, from the pier, catch a head boat, charter a boat, or launch your own at a public launch. There are many water sports to enjoy. You can rent or bring your own equipment for snorkeling, surfing and boating adventures.
On Pleasure Island you will also find the best seafood restaurants around, a park and small lake with paddle boats and walking trails, a tiki hut on the beach (you can listen to live bands), beach shops, bike rentals, and much more. In addition to the many parks, dog parks, trails and bike paths, the Carolina Beach State Park is nearly 1,000 acres of exploration and trails, including a boat launch area.
There is a bicycle path that runs along a part of the island. There are two piers on the island for fishing. Pleasure Island features various festivals throughout the year. The Spring Festival at Carolina and Kure Beaches features live entertainment, arts and crafts. Several Golf courses are located close by and there is a disc golf course at Kure Beach and Good Hops Brewery. There are several shops in the area featuring beach items ranging from clothing to home decor. Numerous restaurants are just a short walk from the condo and serve meals ranging from snacks and casual to more formal evening meals.
Historic Downtown Wilmington, Located 17 miles away, this port city plays host to various special events. The North Carolina Battleship Museum and riverfront cruises are in Wilmington. Stroll the waterfront, and enjoy fine dining at the numerous restaurants located on the Cape Fear River. Enjoy antiques, original art and handcrafted jewelry. Take one of the ghost tours, the guides will tell you a bit of the history of this old city, and maybe a secret or two. Horse drawn tours of the city are also available. During the summer outdoor activities are scheduled along the Wilmington riverfront. A ferryboat makes the half hour trip to the quaint town of Southport. Cars or Bicycles may be taken onto the ferry that goes from Fort Fisher to Southport, both great places to visit.

We overall really enjoyed our stay! The condo was clean and comfortable. The welcome bag was a nice touch! The balcony was the highlight of the place with amazing ocean views. Our one negative was the lack of beach towels. As it is a beach condo (literally on the beach) it makes sense for the owners to provide beach towels as most people don't travel with them.

The beach is great of course. Not extremely busy and very easy and close to get too. Condo had a storage unit with lots of great items for the beach, chairs, toys, umbrella etc. The kitchen had lots of useless items and not stuff thats practical for a week stay for cooking/ storage. Good bit of decor not needed that took up room for a small space. Soft spots in the floor. Water smelled awful. Condo more suitable for max of 4 people. We had to put sheets on the beds when we got there. More blankets, toilet paper would have been nice.Washer was moldy and smelled bad. Outlet covers, curtains, toilet paper holder all hanging off wall. Parking is a nightmare especially if you have a bigger car like us. Told us we would be getting a sand bucket vs bag for our welcome gift and we didn’t get a bucket.stairway is tight and awkward getting to room. We had a great time overall. The road the house on is very tight with lots of people walking, no sidewalks, and houses right on top of the road. This was our most expensive place we have stayed in Carolina beach and our least favorite. It was okay but wouldn’t book here again unfortunately.
