This home is a diamond in the rough -- situated in an unassuming neighborhood in La Mesa, it is conveniently located within walking distance to handfuls of good restaurants, bars, shopping, trolley access, etc. Once there, we did not use our car once! The neighborhood is modest, yet friendly and well kept. The amenities nearby offer something for everyone.There are two things I would like to draw to people's attention: there is no a/c upstairs (only in the bedrooms downstairs), but San Diego has such moderate climate, that is probably rarely an issue; and there are no TVs in the bedrooms.Otherwise, it is an adorable and clean home in a perfect, less congested, area of San Diego.

We LOVED staying at this property. It was clean and well-appointed. The proximity to the train and downtown was perfect. The Evolve team was quick to respond when I had a question. We look forward to our return visit.

This is an additional note to my earlier review; we stayed at this property for two weeks, from 1.21 to 2.3 2026. I wanted to mention that both the rental team and the owner of this property were very communicative and helpful, with quick responses to any inquiries. The owner shipped a coffee maker to the property when we explained that we don't use a Keurig. That was very much appreciated.I'm changing my rating to five stars, as I think the noise concerns we had were fairly minor on the whole and may not affect others as much. Just be aware that there are definitely traffic sounds you will hear in the unit!On the whole, a very comfortable rental for a longer stay.

Overall, we had a great two-week stay at this townhome within walking distance of La Mesa village. It was large, clean and very well stocked, and the upper level living areas were open, nicely decorated and very pleasant. The only reason we give it four stars is that there is a certain noise level that renters should be aware of. There is considerable traffic and a trolley that runs frequently on the major street below the unit, and the noise is audible through the older lower level bedroom windows at night. Also, there were two very loud dogs next door that barked at us whenever we went on the balcony. I'm not sure if that would always be the case, but it was a minor nuisance for us during our stay. Overall, this is a very pleasing, comfortable and large space that makes a nice home away from home.
