We love this property! It's quiet and clean. Also convenient to lots of hiking, a grocery store, and local restaurants. The kids also have fun playing in the river. This was our second visit, and we'll certainly be back again!

We loved our stay at the Rock House! The home was clean and comfortable. John and his daughter Amy were very accommodating. We got to visit with John a couple of times. He showed us how to get to the river, both on the property and from a nearby public road and even provided us plenty of firewood. There were a lot of ticks by the river so I recommend bringing tick spray. I suspect it has to to with the time of year rather than location because this was not the only spot we picked them up and we've never had that issue when we've visited the area before. We highly recommend the Rock House and are hoping to get to stay there again on our next trip to Arkansas.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hosts were wonderful. They made fire outside the fire pit during our stay and set it up for us. The river backside of the cabin was amazing. Strongly recommend this place.

Our whole experience with Amy and John was amazing and hospitable beyond our expectations. We had mentioned wanting to do a fire one night for our boys (3,6,9) and Mr. John had it all setup for us and all we had to do was light a match. I’ve never had such kind and courteous hosts in all my years of VRBO. You are close enough to Jasper to get essentials but far enough away to not even notice it. We spent 3 nights at the Rock House and loved spending our Thanksgiving there!

We wanted a quiet place to stay while enjoying some hiking in the Ozarks and this place delivered. It was just my wife and me, but there is adequate space for six, maybe seven. The house was pristine nicely appointed. The location gave us easy and quick access to theJasper and Ponca areas. The owner was a great communicator and checked to be sure we were happy and all our needs were met. You won’t be disappointed.

Loved our stay. The country rock house was charming with modern amenities. Was wonderful getting away from the hectic city to the laid back atmosphere of the country. What a breath of fresh air. We enjoyed wading and fishing in the river on the lower end of the property and sitting outside viewing the stars. Plenty of sites nearby to visit which we definitely did. John, the owner, made us feel like we were part of the family. Really enjoyed visiting with him. I highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back. :-)

This home was lovely and peaceful in secluded area. Enjoyed outdoor firepit seeing stars and walking to river passing cows. Owner John and Amy very nice and responsive. Even turned porch lights on for our evening arrival and started fire in living area. Enjoyed food from Ozark Cafe and Jasper pizza in town approx. 15 minutes away. Fully stocked kitchen if you want to bring food and cook there. Coffee machine made good coffee with coffee sugar and creamer provided. Washer and dryer worked great too. Recommend for quiet and safe vacation spot!

We had a short stay while driving through Ozarks. This place is secluded, Cozy Mountain and Ranch Home with beautiful views. The property is as described. But the best part is the care that John takes to ensure guests are comfortable. This is our second time at the property. My kids remembered him from our first visit and will surely remember the wonderful conversations we had this time around as well. Amy provided good check in instructions and was available if we needed. Very close to jasper and plenty of hiking close by. Will visit again.

This property is hands down one of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at. The property itself sits in an absolutely beautiful, idyllic setting. The house has absolutely everything you could need and is very well stocked. We loved that the property had private river access to fish and swim. This home is in a good central location to many activities. Amy was wonderful to work with and very helpful. Mr. John is an absolute precious person and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with him every day we were there. Without a doubt, his great hospitality and friendly nature is what made our trip one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken. Although our trip was short, it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. I did not want to leave this beautiful property! We will definitely be back at some point.

Perfect place to hike, explore nature, and play in the Little Buffalo river. We had a blast. The house is comfortable and very well kept with lots of amenities and supplies. AC works good. The river runs the back of the property and plenty of pasture and woods to explore and see lots of wildlife. Town not too far a drive for supplies and large Buffalo river access nearby with some state parks. Many thanks to Amy and Mr. John, yall were great. Fast responses, very accommodating, and made our stay fun and memorable for sure. Mr. John even stopped by to chat and see how we were settling in and told us about the house and property. We felt welcomed in his home. 5 stars, definitely recommend and will stay here again next time we are up that way.

My family of four loved everything about our stay at the Rock House. Amy communicated all necessary information in advance of our stay, and the house met all of our expectations based on the information presented online. We cooked several meals in the well-stocked kitchen, and the washer and dryer were very helpful. I commented several times that this was the best stocked rental property we’ve ever stayed ay (e.g., seasonings, paper towels, towels/dish towels, trash bags, etc.). We enjoyed meeting Mr. John and chatting with him as well. He showed my husband around the property, including how to access the river/swimming hole. We swam a couple of times and fished with no luck of catching. The natural spring water in Shop Creek was perfectly clear and cool on a hot summer day. We had plenty of space and comfort in the cabin as well for our family of four. We used this Parthenon cabin as a central location for two hikes (Hawksbill Crag and Lost Valley) and two day trips to Branson. Jasper is in close proximity (6 miles) with restaurants and a grocery store that had everything we needed. Thank you so much to Amy and John for their hospitality. The cabin exceeded our expectations and we absolutely plan to come back soon!
