Perfectly located a quick 2-minute drive from Purgatory Resort, 30 minutes to Silverton, and 30 minutes to downtown Durango, this cozy retreat offers the best of both worlds: the peaceful serenity of the mountains and convenient access to two vibrant mountain towns. Step out onto the spacious back deck, where you'll be treated to stunning vistas of Lake Purgatory — an idyllic setting to enjoy your morning coffee or unwind with a glass of wine at sunset. The yard features a fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows, stargazing, or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Pet Policy
No dogs are allowed unless prearranged with the management company. There is an additional pet fee of $100 per dog per reservation. Maximum 2 dogs. Renters are responsible for their pet(s) at all times and must ensure all solid wastes have been picked up and disposed before departure. There will be a $500 fine if there is an unauthorized pet on the property.
NO smoking anywhere on the premises.
Please note that because the home is supplied by a private well, you may occasionally notice a slight sulfur smell when using the water. This is a normal occurrence and simply part of mountain living. The well water is tested regularly to ensure it is safe for use.
NO Lake Access
Guests will be sent a vacation rental agreement by Durango Colorado Vacations (the property manager) to e-sign at the time of booking.
Please note that the primary guest must be at least 25 years old to book this property.
A friendly reminder before you book your stay is to remember we are trusted to manage independent and family-owned homes. We simply ask that you treat these homes and properties with the same respect that you would expect one to treat yours. Due to a recent uptick in unauthorized guests, pets and gatherings, we are implementing a strict "one strike" policy for any guests that are found having any unauthorized gatherings, pets, or guests with them in the home. Failure to disclose any of the stated above will result in immediate termination of stay with no refund being issued for unused nights.
Please note that most properties are outfitted with outdoor security cameras.
Note: This home does not have Air Conditioning. Most homes do come equipped with box and ceiling fans.
Cancellation Policy:
If your arrival date is within thirty (30) days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes that are made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival will receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Between (29) days and fifteen (15) days before arrival, guest will be refunded 50% of the reservation amount. Fourteen (14) days or less to arrival, no refunds given.
For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date to receive a 100% refund minus a $250 cancellation fee. Cancellations made between thirty-one (31) days in advance of your arrival and fifty nine (59) days will receive a 50% refund.
Trip insurance is available for purchase and is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

Perfect Mountain Escape!I spent a magical week here with my family of five (including our dog, who felt just as welcome as we did), and this property exceeded every expectation. Purgatory Resort is minutes away, making ski days effortless, and coming home to the hot tub after a long day on the slopes was pure bliss.The cabin feel of this home is something special. Warm, cozy, and decorated with excellent taste. It doesn't feel like a rental, but rather like someone's beloved mountain retreat, and every corner reflects that care. The space was spotless clean throughout our stay.Between ski days, we lost ourselves in the owner's wonderful vinyl collection, devoured books from the shelves, and played board games late into the evening (a real gift for a family looking to unplug and reconnect). We also made the most of the stunning deck views and enjoyed strolling around downtown Durango.Our host was an absolute pleasure to work with. Professional, knowledgeable about the area and incredibly responsive whenever we had a question. It was a seamless experience from booking to checkout.If you're looking for a mountain property that delivers on every front, look no further. Five stars, no hesitation. Already looking to re-book.

House was clean upon arrival and the check in was smooth and easy

I loved the deck and the views. I also loved the house itself. It was comfortable, the bed was great and it was well maintained and clean.
With that said.... there were no instructions on how to work the TV. We assumed that it had cable and we didn't have to actually access our own provided. Plus the internet would not pick up and the TV so we had to reboot the system and log into our own provider (after calling for help).
The Hot tub was inoperable and the garage barely fit our car, but we did get our car into it.
The road going in is gravel but pretty well marinated so not a big problem.
On check out we had to actually wash the towels, dispose of all our food that was left, run the dishwasher and take the garbage to the end of the road to dispose of it (but could not because there were no instruction that were provided that worked to unlock the bin).
All and all if they changed a few things I would happily stay there again sometime.

Our family had an amazing stay. The house was very clean and perfectly set up for hanging out, cooking and enjoying the gorgeous views. We loved the deck and firepit. The location was great and felt very private but also not too far from downtown Durango and Silverton. We'd love to stay again in the future!
