About this house rental

Ideally located in black Périgord, in the heart of the valley of the four castles, the hamlet of Saint-Julien is a haven of tranquility, accessible by a dead end road. It overlooks the Dordogne valley, facing the magnificent Marqueyssac cliffs, the Castelnaud-la-Chapelle castle and the listed village of La Roque-Gageac.

At the entrance to the hamlet, a 16th century stone house with a slate roof overlooks a garden on several levels. Its fully preserved traditional architecture, its antique furniture and its rare location give this house a special charm.

Completely renovated, the house, easily accommodating 6 people, has all the comforts, a large garden and a beautiful private swimming pool. In any season, for an active or pure relaxation stay, it will satisfy heritage lovers and nature enthusiasts.

The 200 m² house has 3 spacious bedrooms with their respective bathrooms: the red bedroom, the orange bedroom and the honey bedroom. The TV lounge, giving access to the red bedroom, equipped with a comfortable sofa bed, can be used to accommodate one or two children.
The house also has a living room with a large open fire, an equipped kitchen, 4 toilets and a cellar.

A garden on several levels and a large private heated swimming pool (6 x 12 m) located below the house allow you to enjoy the remarkable view and the absolute tranquility of the site. These different levels can be dangerous for boisterous children.

Overlooking the garden, the views of the Dordogne valley and the Marqueyssac cliffs are majestic all year round.

Garden table with chairs, sun loungers and pool loungers are also available to fully enjoy the garden, the view, the tranquility.

Authentically restored historic rural stone building (former village school) in enchanting verdant location - numerous rustic cottages situated on a web of no-through roads above the river Dordogne. That means quiet, little traffic, lovely walks, access to the river, a XIIthC chapel nearby, walnut and fruit tree groves (apples, pears, mirabel plums), hay fields. Une symphonie pastorale ! The property’s pool is perfection. The house is well equipped with modern appliances, new kitchen facilities, 5 toilettes, a laundry, 4 bathrooms. Epic views from every window. Delightful garden terraces to sit, read, relax, eat. We simply let go and allowed ourselves to indulge & enjoy.

Amazing stay - highly recommended The view is INCREDIBLE - looking west out of the valley - sundowners with hot air baloons floating serenely above will stay with me for a long time The pool is wonderful and we had many happy hours spent there. The inside is very traditional of an old property - but is a great base, super clean and incredibly comfortable beds. Overall highly recommended - we had a fabulous stay

The gardens and pool of this property were exceptional and exceeded the photos, the sunsets and views across the valley you simply can’t capture but are incredible. The owners were easily contactable and quick to resolve any issue we had. Really recommend this property as a beautiful French home

Magnificent old farmhouses in an incredible setting with sweeping views across to the gardens above the cliffs and modern amenities in keeping with the style of the buildings. We fell in love with this place
