About this cottage rental
Flowing Water is located on a peaceful residential road, nestled among a cluster of 19th century cottages draped along Stony and Ox Clove creeks in the historic hamlet of Chichester. Originally built by the Schwartzwaelder furniture company in roughly 1890, our cottage is uniquely situated on a bank overlooking an ever-flowing stream, giving the feeling of floating over the rushing water below. The cottage is bright and airy, features a flexible open concept with comfy cozy furnishings, and tastefully balanced design elements that invite you to appreciate the natural beauty of the property.
Downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen opens to a dining area for six which opens further to the living room. Two pairs of sliding doors bring the outside in, and between them a wood burning stove warms the space. Step through the sliders to find a full deck with gas bbq overlooking the stream. Leave the sliders open to fill the space with a calming sound bath from the rushing water below.
In the back yard, the hot tub and firepit invite you to enjoy a relaxing evening stargazing in comfort after your day's Catskills adventures. But the real star of the show is the beautiful stream that snakes along the property. Explore small pathways to discover intricate root and rock formations, small falls, rapids and pools, or find improvised sitting areas to bask in the streamside ambiance.
Upstairs you will find an open loft space, with comfortable combo chez / sleeper/ sofa, perfect for curling up with a book, some music and glass of wine, or to be used as a 3rd sleep space. A two inch memory foam mattress is available to make the combo sleeper extra plush. A twin air mattress is also available.
Directly off the loft are the two primary bedrooms. One is equipped with a full size bed and boasts a private balcony with vaulted views of the surrounding forest and stream below, the ever present rush of flowing water as a perpetual white noise machine. The other bedroom is large and comfortably equipped with a queen bed, large dresser and three closets. It also has windows overlooking the stream.
A 55" Roku TV, fun assortment of games and puzzles, and kitchen stocked with essentials, including coffee and tea, complete the picture. Every aspect of the space invites you to relax, unwind and appreciate the beauty of this very special place.
NOTE: As indicated above, the 3rd BR is more of an open loft space. Guests sleeping in either of the 2 complete BRs would pass through the perimeter of the loft space to go downstairs.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here—we used the hot tub every day, enjoyed several fires in the woodstove, and truly enjoyed every minute.

Perfect weekend quiet getaway. The house is exactly as posted online and great communication with owners. Very easy to get to and with great directions from owners. This is a small hidden gem in the area. A must rent
