Wonderful location and place. Has elevator and excellent air- conditioning. Shower, sink and bedroom in one room, then a kitchen/living room area, and a tiny bathroom off of the living room area. Has washer, stove, fridge and necessary items to cook (we cooked one night and nice for snacking). Has coffee machine - but it uses some kind of specialized coffee pods - they gave us two pods on arrival(also - it is not a keurig type). Bring laundry detergent (but there happened to be a few detergent pods we found/used) Easy to walk to the Carrefour (about 8-10 min). Lots of other markets, bread places, restaurants, produce markets run during the day. The open air Cours Selaya is probaby 10-15 minute walk and has lots to see/buy. Owner met us on the corner of Antoine Gautier and Emmanuel Philibert and walked us to the place. It is very secure and safe with multiple locked doors to prevent anyone from wandering in. The area is very congested with construction and they are building a train or something that is going to be right next to this location. However, it is quiet in the room and we heard no construction noises etc Just a note on airconditioning - is that it was the hottest week on history in the area when we were there, so it was a very nice relief to have it. The owner had the place nice and cool by the time we arrived and really appreciated that. We also had a chance to eat a michelin two star - "Flaveur" (about 15 min walk) and its was a fun and very long (8-1am) dining experience. We did a cooking school, which was also started in the Cours Selaya area and that was a fun experience (Les Petit Farcis). The owner speaks english fluently. Note on PARKING: Parking is available, but not on site - about 7-9 min walk - but the parking garage is not manned so getting in and out with their "special 3 or 7 day pass" is not easy and requires you to press the intercom button for help each time and you have to try and explain your situation and sometimes they don't speak english and sometimes they didn't answer the intercom (and you have people backing up behind you and it becomes a pain to try to move the car back out etc...). So parking will cost you another ~15-25 Euro's per day. The 3-day pass is 47.50 Euros for three days, the daily rate was 25 Euros. This "parking pass" did not allow me to easily come and go (hence my comments above) The parking lot is called "Indigo Barla" - so on Barla street.

Really just a quick walk from Garibaldi, but already I felt like I was part of a real neighborhood as I passed the same people in the local cafe or working on the road/tramway projects or parents taking their kids to school. The apartment is better than I had been able to discern: it had everything I needed except a detergent capsule for the clothes washing machine. The owner said he'll have some guide books soon, but I found that there was plenty to see and enjoy without too much planning. The owner was quick to reply to emails, confirm public transport and suggest special local foods. I was there in winter and found the apartment comfortably warm. There isn't any view, except a glimpse of distant (snow covered) mountains over the roof. Mostly you see a courtyard and other windows in the complex, but the nice curtains gave me a complete sense of privacy.
