This newly redecorated and freshly painted oceanview cottage features spacious decks, ocean views, a large great room and 3 cozy bedrooms that are sure to help you wind down and embrace the laid-back coastal lifestyle. When you're craving a leisurely stroll on the sand or plan to spend the whole day splashing in the waves, the nearest beach access is only 500-ft (just a 2-minute walk) away!
As you pull up, you will find plenty of parking space in the driveway and beneath the home in the carport. An enclosed outdoor shower makes it easy to rinse off after spending a day at the beach while your very own Private Pool* is perfect for a cool dip on a warm day. And be sure to take some time to unwind in the bubbly Hot Tub after a day at the beach! You'll love the raised single-level living which helps keep the family together and allows for gorgeous views. A welcoming great room offers plenty of natural light, comfortable furnishings and a wall-mounted Flat-Screen for catching up on your favorite TV show. Cook up your favorite meal at home in the fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances. There is plenty of seating in the adjoining dining area and additional seating at the kitchen counter. Wash your clothes throughout your stay in the convenient laundry closet.
When it's time to turn in for the evening, a King Master Bedroom with Cable TV and an attached Master Bath is the perfect place to unwind. Two other bedrooms are located right down the hall and share access to a full hall bath—one room containing a Queen bed with Cable TV and the other with Pyramid Bunk bed with a trundle and a Cable TV that is perfect for the kids. The huge deck spans the entire length of the home and is a great place for watching sunrises over the coast. We had a great stay at The Merry Mermaid! We stayed May 11-16 and it was great. In my opinion, the pictures on the website do not do this place justice! It is so cute and very tastefully decorated. The beach is a short walk away. There are two pretty easy beach access points located not far from the house. One is a very short walk and the other is a little further down the road and that one has steps/ramp. The other one you have to walk up and over a sand dune which was not a problem for us but for someone with more mobility issues they might want to use the other one.The pool was a little cool for the time of year that we stayed but we had great weather in Nags Head and it didn't stop us from still laying out by the pool and soaking up the sun! The turf by the pool was also very nice and convenient so you don't have to worry about hot pavement. We were also traveling with pets and it was sooooo nice to not only have the fenced in yard but to also have all the gates on the decks. We would just open the sliding door to let the dogs out and they were able to go down the stairs to the yard without having to be on a leash. It was very pet friendly! Communication with the rental company was also very good! We had trouble on the first day with the entry lockbox and I called and someone was able to help me right away. I can't say enough good things about The Merry Mermaid and we would not hesitate to stay there again! :)
