About this house rental
There is AC only in the principal bedroom as the rest of the rooms house can not be closed in as you can see from the pictures. The house is designed to move the breezes through it. If using AC we ask that you only use at night ( most people prefer natural air flow which is supplemented by fans) You will have to close all the windows and the door. Power on the island is extremely expensive and AC is a major user.
Unique Casa Cowee, is a true island home. With almost constant breeze. Recently renovated island-style on a lush private 1 acre estate, nestled in the warm, friendly community of West Sandy Bay, offers dramatic million dollar views of the Caribbean and richly varied living spaces – including a spacious Main House with new (2024) wood floors, new extensive kitchen and your own private pool overlooking the Caribbean, large bedroom pod with quality king bed and loft with queen bed and 2 pc bath. We can add a single bed ($25 a night) Also a smaller self contained Casita (queen bed) with it’s own deck, kitchen and bath can be rented along with the main house for another $50 per night per person(only available when renting the main house) The gazebo covered Sunset Deck off the main house is where friends meet for many a good time.
Casa Cowee's 70 foot swimming dock (occasionally enjoyed by our neighbors) and tranquil waterfront provide unlimited fishing (inquire about licences) but no poaching lobsters and conch, Snorkeling (reef in front of property), swimming, scuba diving, (2 dive shops) dolphin-watching, and the opportunity to explore the colorful marine life in the Sandy Bay/West End Marine Reserve.

We have added a double to our two single kayaks for your enjoyment and provide you with snorkelling equipment for your stay. There is also a beautiful spa about a 200 foot walk down the beach.
Located on our beach just a couple of minutes walk is the Beach Grill Restaurant, Tranquil Seas Bar and restaurant, Anthony’s Key and many other local good eats, music and dancing! For diving on our beach you have Sandy Bay Divers at the Beach Grill and Tranquil Seas Diving.
This unique beachfront plus rain forest property is just a short 10 min. drive to West End Village for dining, shopping and great evening entertainment. On Roatan fun is had by all residents and tourists alike.
20 min. from airport. Car rentals are optional as it is a very walkable location. We can arrange a tour bus to pick you up from the airport. Stop for groceries and take you to the house where Jose gets you settled in. Ask for current pricing.
The home is surrounded by expansive decks offering gracious outdoor living with lush tropical landscaping and exquisite sunset views. There is a gas BBQ hut which is a great place to gather. Since I bought Casa Cowee in 2013 we have made many improvements and the property is now fully fenced and gated. New stone walkways. Jose the caretaker is on the property basically 24/7 for your convenience. Jose can arrange tours land and sea and fishing etc. This Island is wonderful oasis and there is no need to live in a gated community. The Islanders are wonderful!

Our host Jose was very personable. He made sure he was available for all our needs. The facility was very comfortable with lots of covered decks to take in the beautiful view of the ocean. We enjoyed the use of their paddle boards, kayaks to the flippers to go out snorkeling. We also enjoyed the veggie and fruit truck that came so we could enjoy fresh produce during the week stay.

My family of four with 2 teenage boys stayed for the week of Christmas in 2024What we loved about the house: The layout of the house is highly functional - kitchen with countertop seating, right off the living room with a round dining table. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook including olive oil. We played card games and put together puzzles when it was raining. Master bedroom bed was very comfortable with great lighting for reading in bed. The owner put an extra twin bed in loft so my boys didn't have to share a bed which they appreciated. I appreciated the nice deck to watch my boy fish and snorkel from the dock and also to be able to sit outside even if it was raining. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance. We thought the food was amazing at The Sunken FishHighly recommend night and day snorkeling in the West End. Search Facebook for Cory's Snorkeling tours. He picked us up for the day snorkeling, got us reserved chairs on the beach and help us rent jet skis later in the day. The snorkeling was the highlight or our trip. We went on a day that no cruise ships were in port. The only thing that we didn't like was that the neighborhood shot off firecrackers which sounded like M80s - but guessing that's only during the holidays. The owner Suzanne was great with communication and Jose was always available if we needed anything.

Our group of one mom and 3 college-aged young people enjoyed our stay at this lush property - complete with a giant mango tree and peaceful deck with stunning Caribbean views and several lodging options depending on your group size. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hammocks or pool overlooking the water.
We walked to two of the local restaurants for dinner on several occasions and we often enjoyed amazing breakfasts cooked with fresh eggs on the property and cantaloupe-sized mangos, both happily provided by Jose the ever attentive property manager. Both Jose and the resident cat-ambassador, Jack, made us feel safe and at home. Speaking of safety, the property is secured but a gait, important to us as it was our first trip to Roatan. We found the locals to be welcoming and we never questioned our safety. We elected to not rent a car an used transportation arranged by Jose whenever we needed it. If you are visiting Roatan, you are here for the water. We went out several times by boat to snorkel at some of the healthiest reefs we have ever seen. You will of course hit the more popular sites like the "aquarium" but I highly recommend less visited sites like Palmetto I took an amazing yoga class at Sun Yoga. And this location is right next to Anthony's Key resorts where we you can see happy dolphins performing or in training AND they are let out regularly, returning of their own free will! Can't say enough about the level of service that Jose provides, unsurpassed.

Our family of 9 with ages ranging from 19 to 75 stayed for the last week of June at Suzanne's piece of paradise. My SO and I stayed at the Temple Treehouse several years ago and loved it so much we wanted to share it with our family. We rented the entire property - Casa Cowee, Casita, and Temple Treehouse. All of the rooms were clean and comfortable and the group appreciated having lots of space to spread out. We especially loved time on the main deck at Casa Cowee and the upper pool where a beautiful sunset view could be enjoyed while sipping a cold drink and floating in the cool water. The kitchens are all well appointed, even for a group as large as ours, and the propane grill is great for cooking out. On nights when we chose not to cook, a 5 minute walk up the beach took us to a great beach bar and grill where they knew us by name by the end of the week. We took advantage of the snorkeling equipment several times and enjoyed exploring the reef off the dock right in front of the house. We also used the kayaks to explore the nearby shorlines.
Jose did an absolutely awesome job taking care of us during our stay. Without ever being intrusive he was always present when we needed his help, beginning with welcoming us on arrival and helping carry our bags and groceries up to the houses. He responded happily to our every request, no matter what it was. Mom especially loved walking the property with him and learning about all of the beautiful landscaping. Can't wait to return!!
