* Check-out: Before 10 AM
* Rental agreement and ID verification are required.
* Pet Policy: Pets must be reported prior to arrival. $50/pet per stay (max 2 dogs). Unreported pets will incur a $150 fee.
* Starter Set of Supplies: We provide an initial supply of toilet paper and paper towels. Guests are responsible for replenishing as needed.

The cabin was everything we hoped for. This was the perfect little getaway we was looking for. Alison was an exceptional host. Very friendly and quick to respond. We will definitely be staying here again for future visits.

The Shagbark cabin was a wonderful place to stay. Easy check-in. Very clean and comfortable. Close the many outdoor adventures in the Shawnee Forest, as well as Carbondale, if needed. Helpful instructions from the host. Highly recommended.

This was our 2nd stay at the cabin. We just love this place! It was a perfect spot for our family to stay while we visited our son at SIU. There is enough space for me & my wife to have a private bedroom, my two younger sons slept in the loft (which they loved, especially the view out of the window in the morning) and my oldest son was able to stay on the pull-out sofa bed on nights that he didn't want to drive back to his apartment. Every detail of the cabin has been thought out. The full kitchen meant we could cook meals there and didn't have to drive to a restaurant every time. We played games on the kitchen table and my sons loved jumping in the hot tub in the cold weather. We used the camp fire pit and made s'mores. The cabin feels like it's out in the country, deep in a forest, but it's actually only 10 minutes from downtown Carbondale and the SIU campus. It's very comfortable and clean with modern fixtures, but made to feel like a country cabin. We just loved it and highly recommend it! We have wonderful memories of our time there!

The cabin was extremely nice and spotless. Everything you could possibly need was provided. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect for our son’s wedding!!
