About this house rental

Summary:

Bettoney Vere, in its central Bray location, is a charming little terraced property which is far larger than you might initially think.

The Space:

Step behind the Tudor-style frontage and you’ll find plenty of space to spread out, with a generous sitting room leading through to an open-plan kitchen and dining area, plus a second sitting room overlooking the garden. There’s also a utility room and downstairs loo — because with a full house, an extra loo is always worth celebrating.

Upstairs, the main bedroom has built-in wardrobes, its own en-suite bathroom and a king-size bed that can be split into twins if required. There are two further double bedrooms and a family bathroom with a bath, giving families, friends or colleagues plenty of room to make themselves at home.

Now for a little expectation management: this is a charming, lived-in home rather than a shiny new show home. It’s been welcoming guests for a while, so you’ll find the odd scuff, mark and imperfection here and there. It may not be pristine, but it has plenty of character, comfy beds, lashings of hot water, Wi-Fi and a properly equipped kitchen — all the important ingredients for an easy short or longer stay.

Outside, there’s a pretty enclosed garden with a patio, ideal for children, pets and those rare glorious British afternoons. Please note that there is no parking at the property itself. On-street parking can be found a short walk away, so you may need to drop off the bags first before finding the car its temporary home.

And then there’s Bray itself. This lovely Thames-side village is famous for its food scene, pretty walks and village atmosphere, while Maidenhead and Windsor are within easy reach. It’s a great spot for exploring the Thames, discovering neighbouring villages or simply finding a good pub and deciding you’ve explored enough for one day.

Once your reservation is confirmed, Smarter Rent will ask for a copy of your ID and for you to sign our House Rules. Then it’s time to unpack, embrace the odd imperfection and make this characterful Bray house your home for a while.

Guest Access:

You have the run of the entire house and garden.

The Neighborhood:

Nestled in the charming village of Bray, our home offers the perfect base to explore the scenic Thames Valley. You can moor your boat at Bray Marina or charter one for a relaxing day on the water. For outdoor enthusiasts, the prestigious Eton College Dorney Lake is nearby, offering 400 acres of parkland and a world-famous Olympic rowing course. If you prefer water sports, Bray Lake is just a short trip away, providing excellent opportunities for windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and open water swimming. Culture seekers will love the historic Dorney Court and the Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, which hosts live performances, films, and workshops in a beautiful 18th-century setting. Windsor Racecourse is also just a few minutes away, offering a thrilling day out. Bray has a rich cinematic history as the home of Bray Studios, and you might even spot a film crew in town. For your daily needs, you will find Sainsbury, Tesco Express, and Waitrose all conveniently located in nearby Maidenhead.

Getting Around:

Getting around is simple from our home in Bray. Maidenhead Station is located approximately 3 miles away, offering frequent rail services to London Paddington, Reading, and Oxford. You can also take advantage of the Elizabeth Line for direct, efficient travel into central London. For local travel, several bus stops are conveniently located in Bray and along the A308, with services provided by Thames Valley Buses and Arriva connecting you to Maidenhead, Windsor, and Slough. We offer free parking on the street for guests arriving by car.
