Traditional family house with a breathtaking view of the couserans mountains, the coustou refuge, renovated with passion, welcomes you in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees regional natural park, for stays of a week or more.
On several levels, you have a large living room very openwork with a glass stove at your disposal, very pleasant for an evening by the fire, a modern and equipped kitchen with a breathtaking view of the mountains and open to the garden . The bedrooms: one bedroom with double bed and electric box springs in the old
barn with its cob wall, a dormitory with 4 single wooden beds, a large bedroom with a superb balcony and two double beds, a large bathroom, separate WC. The house enjoys the sun all day.
The whole of the accommodation is accessible as well as the gardens, an essential place to live in the shade of the lime tree for a quiet lunch, to admire the view or to play with the family.
In the garden you have at your disposal a barbecue, a garden furniture, deckchairs and a large table with its chairs and parasol.
We are at your disposal for any questions about your stay or for outdoor activities.
A person on site in the village can intervene if necessary.
The refuge is located on the heights of the village of Castillon en Couserans, on the hiking path which leads to the Saint-Pierre church, chapel of the Calvary which dominates the village. The shops and the village center can be reached in a few minutes on foot.

The property is delightful, with stunning views of the valley, particualry towards the Pyrenees; the snow capped peaks you could see in the distance. Very well equiped kitchen. The village is charming. A perfect base if you particualry love walking.

Very complete house, very comfortable beds. Perfect garden for eating outdoors and enough space inside if the weather is not permitting. Two separate toilets and a room with a bathtub and shower. The surroundings are incredible. We will return.

The house is very beautiful and cozy. It has a wonderful rustic charm. The outdoor space is lovely. There is a patio with table and chairs and a small yard. And there is a small balcony on the second floor with a stunning view. The host and property manager were very helpful and quick to respond!
A few things to note that weren't explicit in the listing: the towels and linens are not provided in the VRBO price. Our group opted to bring our own towels and linens (sheets and pillow cases) to avoid the extra charge. We also opted to tidy the space ourselves (not a deep clean) to avoid an additional cleaning charge.
A stock of fire wood for the wood stove in the living is available for an additional charge as well.
Overall, my group and I had an incredible stay! It was a relaxing environment and an accomodating host.

Refuge de Coustou is a charming, spacious, authentic house with modern comfort (bathroom, kitchen, high speed internet, cable, BBQ, ...). It has a stunning gardenview over the valley. The situation in the village makes it a quite relaxing place. Stores available in village. Parking is no problem in village.
Owner responds quickly and correct. Check-in contact is very friendly and helpful. Sheets and towels were clean and pleasant to use. House is furnished in authentic style.
One must not hesitate to book a stay there!
