Welcome to La Maisonette, a cozy one-bedroom countryside retreat nestled in the peaceful village of Mosteiros, on the wild west coast of São Miguel Island, Azores. With a privileged location and sweeping panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean — including the iconic Mosteiros islets — this charming home is the perfect escape for rest, reflection and reconnecting with nature.
The house is part of Canto do Mar, a boutique coastal property with three independent homes, each with its own character and atmosphere. Every space was thoughtfully designed to offer tranquility, comfort, and a natural connection to the ocean. The view is yours — and the experience feels deeply personal.
Inside, every detail has been carefully considered to ensure comfort and peace:
A bright and tranquil bedroom, ideal for couples or solo travellers seeking a serene getaway,
A welcoming living room with direct access to the outdoors — a calm space to unwind, read or simply enjoy the ocean breeze,
A fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to prepare your own meals using fresh local ingredients and enjoy them on the terrace with the sea in front of you.
Step outside, and the magic of Mosteiros reveals itself. The terrace is a perfect setting to unwind at the end of the day, watch the horizon melt into the ocean, or simply enjoy one of the spectacular sunsets that this village is famous for. Here, time slows down and nature takes center stage.
A short stroll away, you’ll find natural volcanic swimming pools, a black-sand beach, and authentic local restaurants and cafés serving fresh seafood.

Each house is private and self-contained, while sharing access to the coastal garden — a peaceful green space overlooking the ocean. The atmosphere on the property is quiet and intimate, and we kindly ask all guests to respect this spirit of tranquility.
The homes were designed as places to slow down and reconnect with nature — for that reason, parties and loud music are not allowed. The beauty of Canto do Mar lies in its silence: the sound of the ocean, the breeze, the light, the birds at sunrise.
Parking is available on the street near the property.
Please note that due to the natural oceanfront setting, stairs and uneven surfaces may be present outdoors.
If you are traveling with friends or family, renting more than one house can create a beautiful shared experience — with privacy in each home and moments together in the garden.
We are always available if you need recommendations, local insights, or help arranging a special moment during your stay.
We keep things simple — just a few rules to help ensure a comfortable stay for everyone:
• No smoking inside the house. If you smoke, please do so outside.
• Garbage: please do not leave trash inside. Use the public bins nearby.
• Save energy: turn off the lights whenever you leave the house.
• Respect the neighbors: quiet hours in Portugal are from 23:00 to 7:00. You’re on holiday, but people around you are not — thank you for being considerate.
• Safety first: always lock the door when entering or leaving the house.
• No pets allowed.
• No parties or events are allowed.
• Towels: white towels are for bathroom use only. Please avoid stains and do not take them outside. Blue beach towels are available if needed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in La Nouvelle in Mosteiros, which is about a 40 minute drive from Ponta Delgada. The view from the place is just spectacular. I will definitely stay here again if I am able to visit Sao Miguel in the future. The place was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The host was very responsive to questions.
