A spacious waterfront home with a huge backyard & surrounded by natural beauty, Bay Dreamin' is the perfect place for quiet solitude or for inviting friends and family to celebrate life. This home was updated in 2018 after being owned by the same family since its original construction in the mid-50s, but we retained much of its original charm including the pink and purple tiled guest bathroom with cold tub and the master bathroom with turquoise tile and walk-in shower. The large, shaded yard is about 200 feet long and creates a perfect blank canvas for designing your event such as a wedding ceremony with the picturesque bay as the backdrop. The private back yard accommodates a small band stage with plenty of room for temporary dance floor, seating, party tents, catering, etc. Event insurance may be required depending on number of invitees. Any events require prior approval.
This charming bayfront home is well-suited for larger groups (maximum capacity 12) and backyard events like anniversary parties or weddings/receptions. This home boasts 1900 square feet of space at ground level, so no climbing dozens of stairs every day of your vacation! Enjoy relaxing bay views through the glass picture windows in the great room and from the old Florida style enclosed patio. This home has ice cold AC to offset the summer heat, a 55 inch big screen HD TV in the great room and a 32 inch HD TV in one of the bedrooms. Bay Dreamin' does offer Wi-Fi.
Enjoy the pristine wilderness of the 'Forgotten Coast' by using Bay Dreamin' as your home base for exploring both Wakulla and Franklin County attractions (see County websites for details). Many folks come for the fishing, crabbing or scalloping (when in season) or other water sports as the bay connects to three rivers going north and to the Gulf of Mexico about one mile south. There is a public boat ramp 1/2 mile from the house as well as Rock Landing Marina in Panacea, which has a boat ramp, marina services/bait, restaurant and regular access to offshore and bay fishing guides and charter boats. Multiple great restaurants and fresh seafood stores are along Highway 98 within 5 minutes driving time.
Some people come to enjoy the beaches of Mashes Sands, a mile away down the paved bike/walking trail. Alligator Point beaches and Bald Point State Park are a short drive away. Others just enjoy the quiet waterfront, feeling the bay breezes and absorbing the beautiful sunsets from the backyard shoreline or shore fishing from the backyard beach.
Bay Dreamin' has a fully equipped kitchen that has all the pots, pans, utensils and dishes you will likely need. It has a 2-car carport space out front for convenient, covered unloading and entry. Linens and towels are provided, and there is plenty of furniture to accommodate larger parties for entertainment and dining. You must be at least age 25 to rent this property. Bay Dreamin' is dog-friendly with prior approval from owner.

We enjoyed our stay. The kids had fun in the water during high tide. Low tide was muddy but it was fine that forced us to take a break from the sun. We enjoyed the yard and the shade & the fire pit. We did buy a kiddie pool to put at the door to wash the sand off our feet & I recommend that to keep the sand out of the house. We left it for the next guest to use. Overall it was great and we enjoyed our stay.

This place is ideal for a family group. It's been renovated but still needs a lot more attention. Setting on the Bay is gorgeous and proximity to restaurants and other entertainment is great.

Property location is great right on the water; we’ve stayed here numerous times and always have a good time relaxing and fishing. Property host is easy to communicate with and always attentive. Will definitely be back for next year. Recommend this property!

The property is a refurbished old House that still needs improvements, but it’s practical for what we had in mind. Like I said, keep in mind it’s nothing fancy just a nice comfortable stay. We had a great host who was easily accessible through email or phone calls. We took advantage of the kayak and Jon boat to fish out of. The Jon boat needs some marine JB Weld on the bottom to secure a few leaks but other than that it was a great time.
