About this cottage rental
Welcome to the Cozy Cottage in the Heart of the Adirondack Mountains! It's nice to go away and feel at home. The cottage features a knotty-pine living room with a large leather couch (not a pull-out sleeper). The well-equipped kitchen contains a full refrigerator/freezer, microwave, x-large toaster oven, toaster, coffee maker, glassware, silverware, plates, pots, pans, utensils, blender, crock pot, etc. The bathroom has a shower unit (no bathtub). The separate bedroom contains a queen-size bed with plenty of closet storage and dresser to unpack your suitcases, put everything away, relax, head out and enjoy. For your convenience, there is a compact washing machine, although small, to clean your clothes; plus electric clothes dryer.
When a reply is sent that the cottage is available, the website will automatically send you an email requesting payment of one-half of the total to be sent in advance to confirm the reservation. There will be a 48-hour hold on your requested dates to allow you time to complete details on your end. The one-half payment can be paid by credit card through this website. When the website sends a request for the one-half payment, you will notice a 'service fee' has been added to the quoted amount. This fee goes directly to the website. When I receive notice of your payment, I will send you an email to provide you with information regarding key retrieval, directions, etc.
Your well-behaved pet is welcome, but you will be responsible for clean-up and damage due to your pet. Out of courtesy to others, I prefer pets not be allowed on the couch or bed but understand they do this at home. I have a couch cover in the closet that can be placed on the couch so there will not be damage to the leather. If your dog enjoys sleeping on the bed, please place a sheet covering the bed. Also, please bring your pet's food/water bowls plus their bedding and a towel. There is a small back yard behind the cottage to walk your dog or the corner property is an empty, open space and you can let your dog enjoy this space. Please do not let your dog walk on neighboring properties.
The cottage is very well equipped and contains everything you need, other than your personal belongings and food/drink. There is a convenience store within walking distance which makes going out for forgotten or wanted items very easy without having to get back in the car & drive. There are several very good restaurants and shops either within walking distance or a short drive away. The scenery is beautiful.
You are welcome to have guests visit but no overnight stays.

We were very happy w everything at the Cozy Cottage. Perfectly warm and comfortable place to return to after some cold January days in the mountains. And really appreciated the functional kitchen.

Such a lovely place and so close to all the best Keene has to offer! The Adirondacks are a spécial place and Dorothy’s place is the perfect place to enjoy it all

We had a wonderful getaway at the Keene Cozy Cottage. It is in a fantastic location in the Lake Placid region. We spent all of our time hiking and biking in the Wilmington area, which was easy to get to. But Lake Placid or the High Peaks are also close, if that’s why you’re staying. The cabin was charming. It was very well stocked with so many little conveniences. There were several times we said, “oh, we wish we brought X,” and there it was in one of the drawers. The cabin was also very well stocked for cooking your own meals, which we did. There were also several nice places to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Route 9N runs through Keene, and thus in front of the cabin, which means traffic. But it did not bother us inside. We had a lovely time and would definitely stay here again. We were glad we could meet Dorothy, the owner, before we left. She was also delightful.
