The Get-Away @ The Starkey House is a 2 bedroom semi-attached bungalow with a private entrance, hot tub, outdoor shower, bikes, fire pit, gas grill, fenced yard, outdoor games, king memory foam mattresses, well-appointed kitchen, laundry, open concept living/dining/kitchen, & so much more just steps from the Kerrville River Trail, the Guadalupe River & mere blocks from our Historic Downtown filled with coffee shops, cafes, & shopping.

The Get-Away is the front 1/2 of a 1950’s bungalow style home which is divided into two semi-attached private spaces(The Get-Away & The Tuck-Away) in almost a condo style fashion with double walls and soundproofing insulation. Each space feels like it’s own house with totally private entrances, privacy fenced outdoor spaces, and more. No spaces are shared.

We really appreciated having the Get Away for our week-long stay in Kerrville. As former residents of Kerrville the location worked great for us and the beds were really comfortable (thank you for having king beds!!!). Our dogs loved the freedom to get out in the yard and have some space to run around and explore.

This was a nice home. Good location, but unfortunately had a terrible cat smell when we walked in. The laundry room was almost impossible to go in. We had to buy a candle and kept it lit most of the time to ease the cat pee smell.

We stayed here to celebrate my wife’s 29th birthday and as soon as we opened the door, you could tell it was meticulously maintained. The fresh smell, cleanliness, and coziness were perfect for our group. The hot tub was awesome and we really had a great time.

My family and I (wife and 2 year old) stayed for just 1 night but we all wish we had more time to spend here. The house was so cool with a lot of activities provided by the host (washers, darts, hot tub, board games, TV, fire pit, etc). The kitchen was big and had everything you would need and the 2 rooms had very comfy king size beds. The bathroom was even awesome! They had a list of their favorite things to do in Kerrville posted on the wall and they did not disappoint. Probably the best thing about it was its location to all the best places in town. Especially the river trail. We walked there from the house and saw deer on the way and so many animals surrounded by beautiful scenery and great people. Our daughter absolutely loved it. Makes me want to live in Kerrville one day. (Gibsons was awesome too). The complimentary bottle of wine was the cherry on top. These are great hosts and its a great house to stay in. I hope to stay here again next time we are traveling.

We loved staying at the Starkey House! Everything was perfect. The house was beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable. Our dog Chewy was with us and he loved Kerrville! Lots to see and do outdoors and every place we ate at allowed dogs on the patio. We biked the river trail and spent an afternoon at Louise Hays Park. We also made sure to visit Grape Juice and the food was delicious! Can't wait to come back!

Calming decor and relaxing outdoor space coupled with thoughtful items—yoga mats, guitar, honor bar, dog treats and a personal welcome marquee. Close proximity to Kerrville River trial made for a beautiful morning walk. Perfect lodging to see our son’s last college baseball game at Schreiner. The Starkey House is home run.
