country holiday home - ILLE SUR TET

The holiday house is located outside a village on the hillside with a fantastic view over the valley all the way down to the Mediterranean sea on one side and Mt. Canigou on the other side. The location is great as there are many options for activities in a close range with the car (starting just down the hill with the Les Orgues of Ille-sur-Tet , 30 min to the sea, 30 min to the lovely Train Jaune going into the mountains and max 1 to 2 hours drive for the furthest attractions we visited). The house is fully equipped and has two cozy bedrooms, homely bathroom with washing machine and great shower and a large living/ kitchen area. The terrace, in front of the living area, offers reclining chairs and tables for a meal with the fantastic view. Next to the main house is the pool that offers an even greater view into the valley and surroundings with reclining chairs in full sun and chairs shadowed by Olive trees. It is a little paradise. We really enjoyed the two weeks of hospitality of the hosts who live next door. Both are very welcoming and lovely people who enjoy having guests from other places. The “Bonjour Ca va?!” when we met were always very connected with a smile and a hand wave. They speak several languages and were happy to guide us in organizational questions. They were also very helpful when we experienced a small medical issue with one of our teenagers. A clear recommendation from our side and we can imagine re-visiting this nice location again.

Beautifully maintained and decorated house, with everything you could want for a comfortable stay in this interesting part of Roussillon, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Guy was a pleasant, helpful host. A very quiet location. We visited many castles, Romanesque abbeys and delightful medieval villages. Thank you for everything!
