About this house rental

Spacious 4 bedroom house on a 1.5 acre wooded lot conveniently located within 2 miles to Tatman Run boat launch / recreation area, Trough Creek State park and Raystown Resort. Perfect for multifamily gathering with 3 levels, each with bedroom and full bath for privacy. Main level has open kitchen / dining / living room area that opens to partially covered deck that makes nice gathering area. Lower level rec room with ping pong table opens up to covered patio. 2 big screen TV's with HD Direct TV and many VCR and DVD movies. Gas fireplace in rec room and wood burning stove in living room for gathering on chilly nights. Kitchen is fully stocked. Large sized weber gas grill and outdoor Blackstone griddle with propane provided. Enjoy a night making 'smores or a cold drink by the fire pit.

Private wooded development to get away from it all, but many conveniences nearby. Local seasonal camp stores within 2 miles. Grocery store 7 miles away in town of Saxton. Only 20 miles from Historic town of Huntingdon for all your shopping needs. Tatman Run recreation area is 2 miles away with boat launch, beach, playground and picnic area. Trough Creek State Park 2 miles with many hiking and biking trails, suspension bridge, waterfalls and more. Less than 1 hour to State College, Blue Knob Ski Area, Altoona or Bedford. Raystown Lake is the centerpiece attraction of the area but there are so many hiking areas, mountain biking trails, museums, amusement parks, historic sites, etc that you will run out of time before you can run out things to do.

Guests need to bring their own linens and towels. We recommend 4wd vehicles in winter due to rural mountain roads ands sloped private drive.

This was our third visit to this home. Check in was easy, it is conveniently located to the lake swimming area and Trough Creek State Park. The hiking trails around the cabin are great! Everything is clean and well maintained. The kitchen has everything you need even for a group of 11. Large pantry space and a second refrigerator are appreciated! We will be back!

Second time staying here; this time for a full week. Perfect location for accessing Raystown Lake Beach area at Tatman Run and close enough to make renting a boat one day easy. Cabin house was perfect for the 4 families that stayed there. Never had any issues. Love love love having a second fridge for our large group! Looking forward to returning next year!

It was a turkey hunting and trout fishing trip. We did some hiking as well as exploring the Lincoln caverns. We played cards and plenty of drinking games in the porch and lower patio.

I would highly recommend staying at this place. It gives you that cabin look without you having to worry about being hours away from any stores. Spacious rooms, multiple bathrooms, big living room and big extra rec room that you can play ping pong or just chill and watch tv. Also has central air which is a huge plus and the owners were very easy to deal with. Definitely would go back again.

We rented this property after looking at several others for a combined bachelorette/bachelor party for our group of 11. This house was wonderful! There was more than enough room to accommodate our group. The area where it was located was very peaceful and beautiful. The outdoor deck/patio area and fire pit were our favorite from our stay! We would definitely recommend this house to others.

An ideal home base for a week at Raystown with extended family group. Super convenient to get to Tatman Run for swimming daily and to connect up with a pontoon boat that we rented for a day. The sleeping spaces were very good, albeit the beds crinkled a bit from the mattress protectors or something. Each room has a comfortable queen bed except for one that has a double with a bunkbed. A queen in that room would make it perfect. Loved --loved-- loved ---having two refrigerators to hold the food for our large party!! The fire pit was in a beautiful setting. Cooked hotdogs and s'mores there one evening. Hope to make this our lodging for our annual Raystown trip.

A great house with a super great host. Kitchen had every appiiance and utensil you might need. A fire pit with wood provided and plenty of privacy though neighbors nearby. Hiking right off the street and a State Park only a mile away. Communication with host was one of our best experiences with VRBO owners. We would go back in a heart beat!

There were 8 adults in our party and we all had plenty of space. The porches were great for sitting outside and everyone enjoyed the ping pong. Close to several things to do. Raystown lake of course but Lincoln Caverns was truly something not to miss!

We love this house. This is the second time we've stayed there. While we had seven of our immediate family overnight, we had other family members visit for the day. Clean and well equipped for cooking large meals. Didn't get to do the firepit this year due to being too tired from boating all day and the heat but enjoyed our stay.

This house was the perfect getaway. Plenty of room in the drive way for 2 boats plus 2 vehicles. Kids loved the game room. There was a whole closet of games. The owners really think of everything you will need to enjoy your stay down to s’more sticks at the fire and bug bite medicine in the bathroom. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back. The owners are great and very responsive.
