"Edith Ott's Cottage" (vintage 1936) is perfectly located 10 miles from The Villages, 14 miles from Ocala, 55 miles from the University of Florida, 70 miles from Disney and 90 minutes from either coast. Sun rises and sunsets will be enjoyed from a perfect back deck overlooking the 100' white sandy beach and is shaded all day beneath huge live oaks. Want to enjoy same from indoors? The bonus porch is heated and air-conditioned and offers spectacular lake / beach views from its three walls of windows. Updated kitchen, washer, dryer, cable tv & wifi. 3 bedrooms (2 w/ lake view and master opens onto deck) and 2 baths. Swimming, fishing, kayaking, water skiing, wake boarding, paddle boarding and more right in your back yard. Come enjoy the relaxing, laid back lake life! This is NOT a duplex. It simply has separate entry doors & is a "split plan".

This was a 4th stay at the Ott Cottage. Kent and Dana are great hosts and very accommodating. The cottage location is very convenient to the lake with great views of Lake Weir. It nice to be able to launch a boat the nearby boat ramp and able to keep the boat in the water at the cottage. We will going back again

Loved this authentic lake cottage. The lake view from the large porch & deck were perfect…sunsets and sunrises both. The cottage is supplied well for your every need and while it is not furnished with every brand new modern items it is indeed very comfortable. We cooked all our meals except 2 during a 10 day stay. I will most likely return.

So good stuff first, it was in a good location and close to the boat ramp. Plenty of parking. Right off the lake, probably would have been great for jet skis to come right up to the house. It was a very old house and the air conditioning was an issue, you're not allowed to make it lower than 75 so it was fairly hot. The biggest issue we had with it was the bugs, there were ants coming in the window. They were in the carpet, on the ceiling. They weren't fire ants, and I'm a Floridian so ants don't usually bother me as long as they aren't fire ants, but that's not what I expect when I rent a house. It was nice enough but we won't be returning.
