About this villa rental
Situated in a very sought after area you will find our lovely 3 bedroom villa in Dénia, just 2 km from Denia's sandy beaches. The villa is situated on a 1000 m2 fully fenced plot, has a 4 by 8 meter private swimming pool, private parking. The villa accommodates 6 people in its attractive 3 double bedrooms (2 rooms with a double bed and 1 room with 2 single beds). The villa is equipped with central heating, wireless Internet, smart TV and a DVD player. The center of Dénia is 2 km away. A very large supermarket is 1.5 km away. At 100 meters from the villa is a pharmacy and various bars / restaurants.

Dénia:
Dénia is a sun-drenched popular port city, located on the Costa Blanca in the province of Valencia, on the north coast of the province of Alicante opposite the island of Ibiza. Ibiza can be reached with ferries from the port of Dénia. Dénia is the capital of the Marina Alta district. The airports of Valencia and Alicante are approximately 100 km from Dénia. Dénia has a cozy center, a beautiful marina and a medieval castle with views of the city and the sea.
The villa is fairly quiet in the church village of La Pedrera. The name La Pedrera means something like quarry, after the work that took place many years ago. La Pedrera includes, next to the square where you enter La Pedrera, the houses that are built against the National Park “Montgo”, this mountain is about 800 meters high and has been named a nature reserve. A footpath leads from here, from which you have a beautiful panorama of the entire coastal area. For the daredevils there is the possibility to reach the top via a steep path. You can also make beautiful cycling trips here.
The villa is a few kilometers from the challenging Club de Golf La Sella. La Sella Golf Course was designed by Jose María Olazábal in 1991, 2-time champion of the Masters in Agusta. Enjoy a 27-hole course in Dénia, internationally known for its excellent conditions for playing golf throughout the year.

This is a lovely property - an old building extended and modernised with a traditional-shape pool. The A/C in the bedrooms is excellent. There is none in the rest of the house but, as it is an old building, we didn't feel the need for it as it kept reasonably cool, even when 35 degrees outside. The house is really nice inside and was good and clean.
There are two nice spots to eat outside - out front beside the palm trees, or out the back where there is a built-in barbeque. The pool at first looks a bit old-fashioned: concrete around the top and rectangular but don't be alarmed - it is excellent. It has easy steps at the shallow end (around 1m deep) and is wonderfully deep at the deep end. The rectangular shape gives you more room to play and swim than these new, kidney-shaped ones. The water did start to get a bit murky towards the end of the week though. I cleaned a lot of debris out of the filter housing after a night of high wind which may have caused this but, Anna, it might be worth having the pool man replace the filters or come around more often. Was sparkling clear when we arrived though.
We were hoping the villa was walking distance in and out of town but it's not really. You can walk it but not when you've been for dinner and drinks - a car is required. We ended up eating at the Villa most nights which was just as good. There are a couple of small bars in the village right next to the Villa that are good for a wee drink.
There is a rocky mountain which you can see from the pool - this is lovely and we walked right up it by driving around to another village - great views.
Denia is nice - not too seasidey with a bit of class. We were there at the festival of the Bull and I tried my hand at enticing it to jump in the sea - not for the faint hearted...…
Apart from maybe the pool filters, the only thing that could be improved-on would be some sort of welcome pack. Pim meets you there but it is difficult to remember everything he tells you when you have been travelling all day. The wifi code was scribbled on a bit of paper in drawer for example and we didn't know where to take the bins. This, and any other problems, were answered quickly by Anna and I have no complaints at all.
Anna, a little laminated page left out for visitors would be good with info like: wifi code; distance into town and any public transport; what's in the village; where to take bins; any dates of interest, local Doctor and Pharmacy location and so on.
