Skala Cottage holiday under the sun

I had a great time!!! It was quietly!! In Sparti!!! And near the sea!!! Everything we wanted for our vacations!!! The house was so Perfect!! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!!!

Lovely cottage nestled in the midst of an orange farm. Close to a sandy beach with small but all you need beach bar. Meet and hear Greeks. Very friendly hosts who invited us warmly and provided the best Mossaka we have ever had. Quiet and relaxing cottage with all you need. Close to Skala for supermarket and within easy reach of Mani, Gethio and Monavasia. Local villages and more picturesque beaches are close by to visit by car. Lovely night sky from the terrace. We thoroughly enjoyed being in the cottage as a family of 4 and the area. Love to visit again. Warm send off from the hosts.

We stayed at Skala in Maria's house from July 31st to August 5th 2018. We were five people, two adults and three kids, We were the first guests in the country house of Maria and Dora. Also the grandmother was there to welcome us; a very nice lady, who makes a good moussaka and some delicious cookies. The accomodation is a typical country house. True, not fake. So do not expect interior designer toouch, trendy furnishings, dim lights, bathrooms that could be confused with living rooms. Everything is practical, functional, simple, considering the place, we should say: Spartan. It returns a sense of real, not sophisticated and not artifact. You will have plenty of space, many rooms, large and spacious. An airy kitchen and veranda, where it's pleasant to have breakfast and dinner. A roof on which one can go with a chair and read in solitude. The house is immersed in an orange grove. Offering ripe oranges in July and August. Very sweet, very good. You stay absorbed in the silence of nature, not imagining anything more relaxing. You sleep in a natural cool, without the need for conditioners or fans. The price is cheap. You can park the car just inside the gate. Nearby there are beaches not taken by assault by tourists even in the hottest periods, fresh and good food at affordable prices. Get advice from Dora, who knows all the best addresses. The location can be excellent as a base for going to the beaches in the surroundings and to visit the Peloponnese, with its historical finds, elegant cities, perched monasteries, uncrowded beaches, beautiful caves, all at low prices and in a relaxed and jovial way of being.

We are recently back home to UK after an amazing holiday experience with my wife and three young ones in Skala- Peloponnese. A traditional Greek village accommodation, in amongst beautiful gardens and endless orange groves. Our visits to Gytheion, Monemvasia, and beautiful sandy beaches is something that we will soon repeat in the near future. The Kids loved the freedom of roaming in the Orange grove. People, amazingly friendly and helpful. Fully recommended for those who look for wholesome holiday experiences.
