About this house rental

Bar Harbor House sits right on the edge of downtown, making it an easy 10‑minute walk to the village for shopping, dining, and waterfront access. The Acadia National Park entrance to Cadillac Mountain is just around the corner. Guests can reach Eagle Lake, Duck Brook, and Witch Hole Carriage Road within minutes. Eagle Lake Road truly lives up to the name, just look up to spot bald eagles or peregrine falcons soaring overhead or nesting nearby. The back field is a natural crossing for deer, turkeys, and other wildlife that wander through. Just across the street is Kebo Valley Golf Course, the 8th‑oldest golf course in the United States. Driveway parking for 2–3 vehicles will help you avoid searching for downtown spots and paying meter fees. Secure storage is available for bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, golf equipment, and more. Inside, a well‑organized brochure wall offers maps, local information, and up‑to‑date island activities to help you plan each day with ease. Avoiding congested Acadia Visitor Centers will save time and frustration! My family has lived on the island for six generations, and we love sharing the history, stories, and hidden secrets of Acadia. Close enough to enjoy everything yet tucked away in a peaceful family neighborhood. Bar Harbor House comfortably hosts up to eight guests and a special place to gather, relax, and make lasting memories. Our home is more than a place to stay, it is an opportunity to experience the true Bar Harbor way of life.

From the very beginning, communication with the host, Deb, was fantastic. We knew exactly what to expect before arrival, and the house lived up to expectations. The house was very clean, very well stocked with supplies, and there were plenty of tips for activities. The location was perfect. Just a few minutes to downtown Bar Harbor and a few minutes from Acadia National Park. Deb made sure that our stay was perfect, and we appreciated the small touches that helped with our stay. We were traveling with a 3-year-old, and there was a gate for the stairs, and even had a cute heart night light that our daughter loved. The house had plenty of room for our family, which was nice since the weather was less than ideal. If we have the opportunity to make it back to Maine, we would definitely stay here again.

This listing is an absolute gem! The location, the space, and most of all the amazing host Deb! Deb was so helpful and accommodating from the get go when we needed to shift travel dates. She was also a wealth of information about the island. A true local and gave us so many helpful tips and spots to see that I never would have known about. She even stocked the kitchen with snacks, breakfast food, and a frozen dinner. We travel a lot, and she was by far the best host we’ve encountered! The home was immaculate and had everything we could need. One thing that really stood out was how much room we had to unpack our clothes! We have rented many places where the dresser and closet space was so limited. I always like to unpack suitcases, and it was great to have so much space! The location of this home is perfect. So close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor’s downtown. A perfect location to hop back to downtown for a late night ice cream trip! We enjoyed our stay in Maine so much and this house and host were a huge part of that. Highly recommend!

The hostess fully stocked the house — including a frozen dinner. We were tired from traveling, and this was very helpful.
