About this house rental
You don't need to go up north for an amazing lakefront vacation experience. This 2,200 sft guest house has three bedrooms: king in master, queen in room 2, a twin and queen in room 3 and a queen size futon in the living room. Make memories with your family or friends with 80 feet of lakefront, a sanded beach and swimming area, fishing dock, free use of four kayaks and a bonfire pit. Downtown Brighton & Howell restaurants 10 min away.

we had a family wedding in town and this was the perfect place for us to stay. Enjoy a fire by the lake on Saturday evening and it was very relaxing.

I want to give a more balanced review than what others submitted. The location is beautiful! Gorgeous homes around crooked lake and kayaking was great. 4 kayaks provided! Other reviews said it was clean which it was but should also be noted that it is very dated, needs updating, and some repairs. Ceiling tiles in kitchen are broken, upstairs sink basin is cracked, no curtain in one bedroom-we used a towel, other bedroom curtain wouldn’t work to close. Some food left in cabinets were open. Worn wall to wall carpet with multiple warn throw rugs over the wall to wall carpet. Water has a sulfur smell and you might want to bring bottled waters. Beds were comfortable though. Nice shower. Now for some people the outdated conditions of the house are fine because of the incredible location on the water and its close proximity to town which had great restaurants. It just should be part of the review so potential renters can make an informed decision.

View is beautiful and description is pretty accurate. Home is dated with paint chips, floors that creek, and old furnishings... However, if you're going to relax and enjoy family time none of those things really matter. Owner was very responsive. The only really big thing for us was I asked the owner prior to booking if our boat would work at his dock (21ft Bayliner Deck boat) to which he said yes. I booked it and we towed our boat all the way there at 9 mpg to find out that it wouldn't. The public launch isn't even on this lake nor would a medium size boat work on the dirt launch. The owner did volunteer to give me back part of my payment if I left by 4pm. Considering our children had traveled there and dinner was going, leaving wasn't an option. His verbal apology didn't sound sincere to any of us, but I guess he made the sale he wanted. A very small refund for the misinformation he provided would have made us feel better about the situation. All in all, we made the best out of the situation as the boat sat parked all weekend. Towels, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, paper towels, dishes all provided which was appreciated.
