About this apartment rental

Studio apartment with full kitchen and bath located in Mill Valley. This cute apartment, is conveniently located and makes a great home base from which to stage your bay area vacation. We are close to downtown Mill Valley, Sausalito and Larkspur, 15 minutes to the Golden Gate Bridge, 30 minutes to Muir Woods and Stinson Beach, and 1 hour to Napa. The apartment is tucked into a suburban house in a quiet neighborhood close to useful amenities, Mount Tamalpais and local hiking trails, world class mountain and road biking. Take a five minute walk up the hill to a trail system that wanders along the ridge and boasts big views of San Francisco and the Oakland Bay Bridge.

Street parking is easily available. There are 15 steps down to the unit. There is free wifi and Netflix and a DVD player but there is no cable TV. The kitchen is well appointed with a gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, and coffee maker.

Just the right size for my husband and I for the weekend! An amazing view of the mountains and the marshes from the deck, which we enjoyed with morning coffee. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. A great location to explore Mill Valley, Larkspur, Sausalito and Muir Woods.

The room had all the necessities. Needed a bit more cleaning. The owners half of the house was quiet, however, the neighbor’s construction began every day at 7:15 am. Not what I wanted to wake up to on vacation.

Fantastic spot to stay and recharge! The view from the deck is amazing and the studio is well outfitted for a comfortable stay. It is car dependent but parking is easy. Host was friendly and accommodating while offering total privacy. Highly recommend.

Tim was excellent in responding to our inquiries, but gave us complete privacy. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short by an unexpected heat wave of 109 degrees f. After our visit to Muir Woods National Park, we left for lower temperatures and an air conditioned hotel in Morro Bay. Usually there's no need for AC in Mill Valley. We were just unlucky. The studio was well equipped in the kitchen, but if you plan to do any cooking, stop at Safeway, or Whole Foods for what you need. We found some outdated cooking oil and spices. More hooks, or bars would be appreciated in the bathroom for towels, or clothing. There are more than a few stairs to the studio, so may not be easy for less mobile individuals. In the ad, you can see the bed isn’t on a conventional frame and could be difficult for some. It was a minor challenge for my wife to get on and off. All things considered, our trip was a rewarding one and our lodging was acceptable, despite the heat.

Great little quiet studio up in the hills of Mill Valley. Beautiful deck overlooking the area and the bay. Cozy, but has most everything necessary. My only complaint is that it wasn't terribly clean. The area rug hadn't been vacuumed and there were cobwebs in various places. Normally, I can live with that, but since I paid an $85 cleaning fee (which I assume the previous renter paid as well), it would be nice to have it clean.

This property was excellent and exactly what I needed while visiting for a class I was taking in Sausalito. I needed to be able to bring lunch and dinner for my class, so I had no problem cooking meals, was so close for walking to great restaurants and grocery options. My partner needed to work from the room all week, and he had no problem taking meetings with no disturbances and good wifi. The room was clean and cozy with a great view, and I would be excited to stay here again! The owner made himself easily available if needed, but I had absolutely no problems.

Host was helpful and communicative, the place had all the amenities I needed, check in and check out was very straightforward. I was here on a work trip but would have definitely stayed here on vacation as well.

Close to everything we needed!! Easy to get to San Francisco over the bridge....Muir Woods is minutes away!! Beautiful view from the balconey...5 wild turkeys appeared along side the rode to the house!!

I would have given this a 5 star rating but have to give it only 4 stars due to 2 things. First, the lack of hot water in the shower. I was there 2 nights and took 2 showers (both between 4:00 PM and 5:30 PM). The first shower took a long time to get warm water (never got hot water) and the second shower (about 10 min.) I was unsuccessful at getting either hot water or warm water. As I had no time to contact the host/manager (due to the need to keep appointments), I only let the hose know upon my departure and the host appologized and said he would look into it. Second, and I'm sure this won't happen to the next visitor, there was someone moving into the very next door property and the movers were extremely loud and it was disturbing. This was just unfortunate for me. It is in a beautiful neighborhood and setting.
