About this cottage rental
Chalet Martinique is a beautiful 3 bedroom chalet close to the centre of Chamonix. Perfect for a family looking for a luxury Chamonix chalet, the chalet is situated on the sunny side of the Chamonix valley just above the town centre and is less than 5 minutes' walk to the restaurants, shops and bars, but is also in a wonderfully quiet private area with uninterrupted views of Mont Blanc from the large, family-friendly garden. On the ground floor of Chalet Martinique, there is a spacious and light living room with large log fire and views looking onto the garden and up to Mont Blanc and the Aiguille du Midi, as well as a separate well-equipped kitchen and dining room with table and chairs for 6. You can access the garden directly from both the dining room / kitchen and from the living room.
On the ground floor of this luxury ski chalet there is a utility room with washing machine and dryer, as well as storage for skis, boots and coats etc. Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms; one master bedroom with Kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, two further bedrooms with twin or king bed . In addition there is a family bathroom with bath and shower, sink and WC. Chalet Martinique is equipped with wifi internet, flatscreen TV with French channels and there is also parking available. The private lawned garden is perfect for families and has outdoor seating and a BBQ for your use in the summer.

What was stellar:
- top notch location: 4 mins walk to chamonix centre, or 7 minutes walk to Brevent cablecar!
- top notch views (from most rooms and garden)
What I like:
- small, fenced garden with privacy
- full alpine chalet vibe with privacy
- value for money (september discounts :)
- space downstairs in living room
- instant help and care from chamonixallyear staff (just whatsapp them)
- washer and dryer working perfectly
- kitchen has evth you might need
- heating is abundant and works perfectly if needed
What I did not worry about, but you might consider:
- upstairs is low, you must bend and beware of multiple 1m50cm (or lower) places
- stairs are steep, but c'mon we do have hands, legs and eyes, right? ;)
If I go again to Chamonix, this would be a top choice for me.

The location of the home was perfect - walkable to the city core but far enough away for quiet and privacy. Sweeping views of the Mont Blanc massif out the front door. House/chalet was small but generally comfortable. I cannot overstate how tiny the upstairs feels, however. I’m 5’11 and was constantly hitting my head in doorways and in rooms (I eventually just learned to walk around hunched over). It wasn’t a dealbreaker but took quite a bit of getting used to.
Overall, a lovely chalet in a spectacular part of the world.

Shortcomings:
The doors are no doors, there are blinds, no noise protection, you hear everthing from every bedroom.
Upstairs is for tall people a nightmare.
Pots and pas should be replaced
