About this chalet rental

The chalet has been ideally set up for both families and friends with the use of its extensive open plan living/dining area and 4 generously sized bedrooms. The approx.total size of the chalet is 190m2. Its facilities have been well thought out to make your stay comfortable. It has underfloor heating powered by a geothermal system, open wood burning stove, and even a jacuzzi to enjoy after a long day on the slopes. The chalet offers secure off-street parking and although a car is useful in Chamonix, the chalet's ideal position means you only have to walk 150 metres via a small path (Close des Outannes) to the frequent bus service which services all the main ski areas (free to ski pass holders) or to the Mont Blanc Express which runs all the way from St Gervais through the Chamonix valley on to Martigny in Switzerland. The main pedestrian street in Chamonix, hosting bars, shops and restaurants, is just 5 minutes flat walk from your front door. Equally, in the other direction you are just minutes away from the Gaillands outdoor climbing crag for summer visitors. Les Pecles, from which Chalet Pickles gets its name, is one of the most beautiful, peaceful locations in Chamonix. Lovely chalet within easy walking distance of town and transportation. Four bedrooms and bathrooms means everyone has private space. The large open-concept main floor allowed plenty of room to cook, eat and relax. The hot tub was lovely after long hikes, and the view is incredible. Would definitely return.

Awesome is an overused expression but not in this case. Chalet itself was just excellent and together with the view was amazing. Only very minor thing was the front door was very temperamental.. maybe needs attention. Otherwise just perfect.

Place looks pretty great, not terribly far from shopping, food, and drink. Main negatives are lower level (where bedrooms are located) is very very warm, need to keep windows cracked to be comfortable. Hot tub temp drops fairly fast when in use. Really is the perfect place in Chamonix. A short walk to town and easy driving to the various resorts in the Valley. Stunning views from both the front and back of the house. Plenty of space for our family and all the amenities you’d want. Highly recommend!

Exactly as listed. Fantastic space. Incredibly helpful host and mgmt company. The main part of city center is a solid half mile/.80km walk. The nearest bus stop is just as far (we couldn't locate a walkway that someone else had mentioned in a review). Our group walked everywhere, so it made no difference to us. I looked at properties that were further out and I'm SO glad I chose this one. It was absolutely perfect. The hot tub was a wonderful end of evening treat after a day on the trails or walking the city all day. The Mont Blanc view is simply amazing and the Le Brevent views from the yard are equally as wonderful.

We spent 6 nights in the chalet and loved every minute. All dealings with the management company were perfect and we had a lovely welcome and tour of the place from Chris. The property is beautiful inside with everything you could possibly want included. We never tired of the beautiful views from the living room and from the fantastic hot tub! This was a treat for my husbands 50th and we agreed it was the best accomodation we have ever stayed in!

Chalet Pickles was the perfect choice for our family Christmas this year. It is very well situated , only five to 10 mins approx to cafes, shops and restaurants in Chamonix. The kitchen is really well equipped and the seating area is lovely and warm with the most spectacular vista of the snowy mountain scenery from the large picture window. . We loved the cosy stove fire for which there was a plentiful supply of wood . Kate the chalet owner very kindly had provided a twinkly Christmas tree and some fairy lights which added to the festive feel in the chalet. The hot tub was very welcome on a couple of afternoons after spending time on the ski slopes!. All very spotless and clean. Chris from Apex Management was extremely helpful during our stay and always on hand to answer any queries. . Delivery to the door of skis and ski gear was a lovely touch with a good discount on ski passes We were hugely appreciative of Kate’s very generous and kind offer of an extension to their stay in the chalet to two family members who unfortunately fell ill with the virus after Christmas. We would love to return again on another winter occasion to this gorgeous chalet . If you are a family of up to 8 people this is the perfect spot to choose in Chamonix for your holiday. A group of 8 adults had an incredible stay at this Chalet. The pictures online do not do it justice as the views of Mont Blanc from the Chalet, are spectacular. Nice and close to everything and the Management Company were great to deal with. Thank you for having us and we will hopefully be back in the future!

Great chalet for two couples

We spent a week at the chalet and it was our home base to explore a number of the ski areas in the Chamonix valley. The location was great for venturing out to other resorts, as well, it was close and walkable to town, and had private parking - the parking on Route de Pecles can be tight, so this is very important. The house was immaculate and was set up well for two couples - also, heated floors and heated towel bars in the bathrooms!! We all love that in the winter! The views from the chalet are pretty incredible - you can see Aguille du Midi and Mont Blanc from the living room. The kitchen is well appointed - for coffee drinkers, it has 2 french presses you can use. When we were there the kitchen had basic spices, olive oil, sugar, and some breakfast tea. You'll likely want to purchase some additional pantry items if you plan to cook at the house. There is a nice speaker on the top floor you can bluetooth your phone to for music on the top floor, but if you want music out by the hot tub, bring a little portable speaker with you. The only thing that could be improved here is the towel situation. We had to request more (which we received without problem) but originally were given 1 towel per person. If you intend to use the hot tub, that's just not nearly enough. Also, the toilet paper supply was limited, and there were no tissues. You'll need to buy both at the store if you are staying for a week. Washer and dryer worked well and there is plenty of space to hang items you don't like to put in the dryer. Overall the this was a great place to stay for a week and would definitely rent again.

We had a great stay at this lovely chalet. It was in a great location on route des Pecles, and there were amazing Mont Blanc views. The only downside was that some of the bedrooms directly overlooked the road so there could be occasional noise at night, but this did not detract from our stay. Thank you.

This was an incredible spot for a five day Active summer vacation but my husband, myself, and are 25 and 30-year-old sons and spouse. The view is amazing , and it is a 10 to 14 minute walk for every restaurant, Shop, Ski and hiking lift, and Train. Even though it is close to town and it very small road, you get tons of privacy in his backyard with Jacuzzi, picnic tables, umbrellas, lounge chairs, and a phenomenal view of Mount Blanc and glaciers. We hiked and rock climbed. As we didn’t have a car, it was good to have the management company grocery shopping in advance for us. The house has all the cooking equipment and dishes etc you need, but no food and very little paper goods, or soap etc so you need to buy yourself. Lovely, great fun, great location, great view, and we would definitely come again.

Chalet Pickles is everything it's advertised to be! The chalet is amazing with tons of space and amazing views. The location is perfect with ample parking and a great backyard. The local management company is friendly and very responsive. Even though we were delayed on our arrival by a day, the whole check-in process was easy and smooth. Sophie, our local contact, was very sympathetic to our travel woes and was flexible and great. Our one suggestion is the addition of a fan for use in the summer months. Unfortunately our visit coincided with an unusually warm spell and the upstairs of the chalet was extremely hot during the day and into the early evening. However, the downstairs where the bedrooms are located remained cool and comfortable...even during the crazy heatwave. We would definitely recommend Chalet Pickles if you're looking for a great house in a great location! Sean and Lindsay

Nice apartment with a mountain view. Convenient bedrooms and large dining/relaxation room on the upper floor. 10 min walk to city center. No ski lift in a walking distance, but we came with a car. Apex Management, who managed our stay, are all professional, super-friendly, flexible. Great guys! If you are going to use taxi for travelling to skiing areas choose Chamonix Cabs. Best price and service in the city.

Had an amazing week at Chalet Pickles over the UTMB week. A short walk from the town centre, the chalet is perfectly located. Living area and bedrooms are fantastic and we could not have asked for more. Views are amazing and the jacuzzi in the back garden is a winner for sore legs. Apex Management were very helpful on arrival and gave us a few tips on where to visit in the valley which was appreciated. This would be my first choice of chalet when i return.

We stayed at Chalet Pickles for a family ski vacation. The views were so amazing that my youngest son decided to sleep on the sofa so he could watch the mountains. The house is is well laid out for a big group with all bedrooms downstairs and family areas upstairs ao if some go to bed early they arent bothered by others staying up. The house had everything you needed for a week (we often cooked at home) and was an easy nice walk into town. My kids enjoyed the nearby bowling and my parents liked thay they coild walk to cafes during the day while we were off skiing. Kate and the management cooy were very helpful and extremely easy to deal with through booking, check in and check out. We would definitely return.

Our group really enjoyed our stay in Chamonix at Chalet Pickles. The home is spacious with a nice open living/dining/kitchen area and great views. We enjoyed having the private jacuzzi out back after skiing. We walked to town every night for dinner. We'd love to come back!

We are a family with three children, age 12, 9 and 6. We stayed in the beautiful Chalet Pickles for a week. The chalet has a beautiful open plan lay out upstairs and nice en suite bedrooms. It has great central location near bars, shops and restaurants, and easy access to the lifts for Brevent and Midi and the train. We enjoyed the quiet area and garden with no-one overlooking us. There is easy walking distance to great climbing walls and a high wire centre at the end of the road. Safe off road parking meant we could leave the car all week and walk everywhere. We all had a lovely time a very active holiday..

We (family + firends + small kids) stayed in this chalet for 2 weeks in August and had a wonderful time. Location : just perfect, in a quiet street, walking distance to the center (5-10 mins) : Chamonix gets very crowded in the summer (probably in winter too!) so it was great to be able to walk to shops and restaurants as otherwise it would have been difficult to park - I noticed the car parks were usually full. Its also walking distance to the Brevent lift, although we did the hikes above Flegere more and for that you have to drive - plenty of parking there. You can also jog right from the Chalet and be out on a trail in 2 mins. The UTMB passes right in front of the chalet just before the finish. Outside : I don't think you can tell from the pictures but the views from the garden/hottub are incredible. the garden was perfect for our kids to play in. The hot tub was great - it gets chilly in the evenings even in summer so a hot tub works better than a pool I would say. Plenty of car parking space (at some point we had 4 cars parked there. Only missing item is a large table to have meals outside - the table only really accommodates 6 people. I suppose it's not often you have dinners outside in Chamonix but we were there during a heat wave! Inside : the whole kitchen/dining/lounge is open plan, the kitchen was well equipped (only missing a good coffee machine!), rooms are a decent size (not big) and bathrooms are nice and modern. The chalet is beautifully decorated, friends who visited us were very impressed! Agency : the people from the agency taking care of the chalet were very nice and super useful throughout the stay All in all a great stay in a beautiful chalet that worked well for our family.

This chalet is suitable for groups family and couples It has an easy living space where everyone can eat relax and entertain The hot tub is fab too many a night in there with the wine The chalet is well equipped and clean. All furnishings are to a high standard. Chamonix centre is a 10 min walk away and is full of shops restaurants and in particular les caves and the surrounding pubs are a spectacle I'm coming back to explore chamonix in Sep 16 in our camper can't wait And I will hopefully bring my family back June next year mx
