About this house rental

Experience country living near the historic town of Templeton, exactly half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This is the heart of the central coast wine country. The Lupine Ranch consists of 300 private acres of oak covered rolling hills - which guests can use for long hikes and relaxed picnics.

The Guest House at Lupine Ranch has two bedrooms, each with a king bed, and 2 full baths, a full kitchen and an expansive living area. The house has a tree shaded patio with great views perfect for afternoon lounging, evening barbecues and late night star gazing. There is also fire pit (winter only) and a regulation bocce court.

Activities include wine tasting at nearby world class wineries, bicycling on the backcountry roads, or golf at any of the areas challenging courses. Visit one of the areas renowned farmer's market full of fresh local produce, meats, breads, and other goods. Drive to the coastal towns of Cambria, Morro Bay, or San Simian, only +/-40 miles away, and visit the stunning coastline or Hearst Castle. Activities such as wine tours, kayaking and horseback riding can be arranged through local companies.

The Central Coast wine country offers activities year round. Summer turns the hills golden brown and brings outdoor concerts, the California Mid-State Fair. Grape harvest marks the fall when local wineries buzz with activity. Winter rains make for cozy weekends. In spring the hills turn green and the wildflowers are fantastic.

Whenever you decide to come, we will help make your stay one to remember.

For additional housing options on the Lupine Ranch please visit the Wine Country Ranch House, VRBO #467860, for a larger, more private venue. Both houses are available together for larger groups, Family reunions, or company retreats. Please contact the owner for more details.

Hey, this rental is adjacent to a 300 acre black angus ranch. The livestock when nearby are respectful and keep to their business. Although our experience was benefited by outstanding winter weather (60-70 highs and mostly sun) the location is spectacular- I suggest a brisk climb up the hill to the rear of the house. Since you will probably be staying inside rather than in the pasture, you might want to know about the home itself- I attest that is clean, well appointed and highly functional. Will was responsive and helpful - not that we needed much.

Two of us stayed here for a wine tour of Paso Robles. From the moment Will met us at the property when we arrived, to the moment we left - it was perfect. The set up as a “Double Master” allowed us to have our own spaces when needed. Kitchen was fully stocked and more than enough towels and blankets. The grill worked great and the seating on patio was perfect to watch the sunsets over the valley. Everyday being able to walk around the fields and hills was an added bonus. Take his recommendation to visit Caelista winery around the corner - excellent wines and friendly hosts. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit.
