"We absolutely loved everything about this cottage; the decor, furnishings, kitchen equipment. We just want to inform (not complain) that the double mattress of the bed feels as if it needs replacing. ..."

About this cottage rental

Located at the centre of the quintessentially Norfolk coastal village of Blakeney, Yew Tree Cottage is a charming traditional brick and flint cottage. Near to the bustling harbour yet tucked away from the main street, this idyllic hideaway offers a magnificent experience of what coastal life used to be like in this stunning area of Norfolk.

Beautifully constructed from traditional materials, Yew Tree Cottage has been lovingly curated to blend original features with modern conveniences. With original artworks and sculptures displayed throughout, the cottage perfectly embodies contemporary living by the coast. The expertly designed bespoke galley kitchen boasts oak worktops and is well-equipped with modern appliances. Parquet flooring leads through to the serene dining room with seating available for four guests around a delightful farmhouse table. The sitting room offers ample comfortable seating appointed with a cosy wood burning stove. For warmer summer days, the door opens to a courtyard garden. Typical for cottages of this era, the bathroom is located on the ground floor, and features a bath with shower over.

The original cottage stairs to the first floor are very steep, but offer a sensor light and hand rail. Upstairs, the master bedroom is comfortable and romantic, styled with attractive furnishings to compliment the original features, including an ornamental fireplace and wood panelled latched doors. This room boasts a king-size bed dressed with sumptuous bedding and fine linens. Decorated with a coastal theme, the second bedroom hosts twin beds. Located on a loke (lane) with no passing traffic, guests are guaranteed a peaceful sleep.

Outside, the fully enclosed courtyard garden offers table and chairs with an accompanying charcoal barbecue. Please see Additional Information for parking advice. Yew Tree Cottage is set back from the High Street off a small loke, we recommend that you don't try and reverse into the loke to unload, it's very tight.

Set back off the main street yet located close to Blakeney harbour, a mere one minute walk leads to the village quay, pubs and amenities. Yew Tree Cottage is ideally located as a base from which to explore this area of the coast which boasts an exceptional culinary scene, picturesque villages and stunning beaches.

No logs or kindling for burner provided & fire had not been cleaned out by previous user. Given the cost of renting this property a basic grocery welcome pack would not go amiss as is provided at other holiday lets we have stayed in

We absolutely loved everything about this cottage; the decor, furnishings, kitchen equipment. We just want to inform (not complain) that the double mattress of the bed feels as if it needs replacing. Not a big deal and we will happily book again. Thank you so much.

The cottage is attractive and we found it quite comfortable. However the kitchen is very small indeed and not ideal. Arriving and leaving is difficult because there is no parking. The cottage does not have internet so should not be advertised as such. There is no router - this caused us a massive problem because my son had intended to be able to work on his laptop whilst on holiday and he had to go home early because he could not do that.

Blakeney is a great place at which to stay. The cottage, with its quirky stairs but well manageable by three 80 year olds, provides a great contrast with home. It is also well equipped and comfortable, quiet and well positioned in the village. You might come home with a sore head because of misjudging the height of the small back door. The only negatives were the relative uselessness of the wifi. Unavailable most of the time and incorrectly listed in the cottage details the website rarely appeared as an option. Fortunately, it is good to get away from the internet once you get used to it. Secondly, the black bin had missed an emptying before we arrived and was 3q full. There was no emptying day whilst we were there. It is now full. All told, a great holiday cottage and place

We had a fantastic few days at yew tree cottage walking the coastal path and watching the amazing array of birdlife along the coast. The cottage is in an ideal location with lots of lovely walks from the door and we’d love to return in the summer to enjoy the pretty secluded patio. The cottage decor was beautiful and evenings in front of the log burner with a glass of wine and a good book were a perfect way to end our day. My only suggestion, would be to make the arrival instructions clearer with the exact location of the loake and position of the cottage - after a long drive and battling with North Sea winds it is not ideal wandering up and down trying to find where you are staying !

We stayed here for a week after dropping off our daughter at Uni in Norwich, and had a thoroughly relaxing time.It really couldn't be more convenient for all the amenities that Blakeney can offer, and yet was very private, being tucked away with its own gated courtyard. However, you may need a torch to initially locate it if you arrive after dark as we did! The only drawback for us was the narrow twisting staircase, although this is of course is a feature of these cottages. But it certainly wouldn't put us off staying here again.

A beautifully decorated cottage with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Central location means you can walk everywhere in Blakeney. Lovely private courtyard garden is a complete suntrap for relaxed meals, and the fabulous Blakeney Deli is across the street!
