About this apartment rental
Location, location, location … it doesn't get much better than this! A luxurious penthouse quayside apartment with balcony offering breathtaking front-line sea views over Wells-next-the-Sea harbour and the sea beyond. With air conditioning and underfloor heating plus lift access and a designated parking space, this is one of the best locations to stay in Wells.
Light and airy throughout. with a large sociable open plan kitchen, dining and living area with access to a beautiful balcony and boasting stunning views out to sea, this penthouse apartment also has two beautifully-styled bedrooms furnished with a Super-king and King-size bed, both with their own luxury bathrooms. Being that the apartment is fitted with underfloor heating and air conditioning, you will be comfortable all year round; warm in winter and cool in the summer!
During the summer months enjoy breakfast or sundowners on your private balcony and soak up the atmosphere from the bustling harbour below where you can watch the fisherman land their catch and the little pleasure boats and paddle boarders and kayakers enjoying the stunning location that is Wells-next-the-Sea. Paddle boarding and kayaks can be hired from the harbour, as can boats to take you out and around the harbour or further along the coast. If you don't feel so adventurous, try your hand at gillying (crabbing) from the quayside below the apartment, or catch the open top bus which takes you to stunning Wells beach which is flanked by pine woods.

Great location, particularly in warm weather when both balconies could be used.
Both, however, along with the windows, would benefit from a more rigorous cleaning regime. I appreciate there is only so much that can be done to mitigate gull droppings but both outside areas had clearly not been prepared for use when we arrived. There is also a shortage of hanging space which could be addressed relatively easily, quickly and cheaply e.g. bathrobe hooks in the master shower room. This has been raised before by previous guests but, inexplicably, not actioned.
That being said, it's still an excellent holiday property.

Beautiful views and prime location.
We were disappointed with the general maintenance and up keep of the property.
We did not feel it was to the high level advertised by Norfolk hideaways.
We had a number of issues ( broken handle on fridge, light bulbs above bed gone in both bedrooms, unable to open one of the balcony doors as the key had broken in the lock to name a few)
We reported to Norfolk hideaways at the earliest opportunity and some one came as soon as possible to rectify.
However the lady from customer services that we reported them to was quite rude and implied that we should have reported them on Friday when we arrived ( considering check in for this property is 4pm and their offices close at 5pm we found this a tad unrealistic).
There was no customer care and after the maintenance worker had attended there was no follow up call or email to check we were happy and our issues had been resolved.
It should not be the responsibility of the person holidaying in the property to ensure it is adequately maintained.
However Norfolk hideaways did not seem to grasp this concept and for that reason we would not book another holiday with them and would not recommend them to others.
We have been staying in wells for over 10years and there are plenty of beautiful places to stay that are well looked after so don’t just be taken in by the views.

We have stayed in Wells many times but this was our first visit to this property. We were very happy with the accommodation except that due to a change in the weather the main bedroom became very cold, draughty and noisy as the wind was whistling through the balcony door constantly. Would certainly make a return visit in the hope that the weather was better and the gap around the door was fixed.

What a fantastic spot overlooking the harbour and marshes. Everything was excellent other than the balconies could have been cleaned and made more welcoming
