About this country house rental
Nestled in the hills of the Iblei Mountains, where fauna and flora still accurately reflect the ancient Sicilian tradition (ancient olive trees, carob, almond trees and vines) stands this old building, built in the first half of 1700 with mainly agricultural. It consisted of stables, millstone for processing grapes and trappeto for the processing of olives and therefore the production of oil. At the end of 1900 it was purchased by its current owner, who with care, dedication and an absolutely conservative renovation has restored it to its former glory. This holiday house totally immersed in nature also offers beautiful views of the Ionian Sea. The owners are artists who painted the pictures inside the house and they have also made all the stone work .It 's possible also visit the premises of Trappeto where you will find exposed the tools used in the work of the fields over the ancient millstone lava stone and the press. The structure has been treated in detail: history, style and practicality come together in perfect union. The area is much sought primarily for its white beaches and crystal clear waters. The house can accommodate up to 7 people, in a fully furnished and renovated environment that consists of 1 entrance hall, lounge, kitchen, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with shower and washing machine. The exterior is furnished with tables, chairs, umbrellas, hammocks, deck chairs and barbecue. The swimming pool and the parking are for the exclusive use of guests.
The location is amazing !!! Close to the cities of Syracuse and Noto and the Natural Reserves Cavagrande and Vendicari, known as World Heritage Sites and also famous for food and wine (Nero d'Avola). The house location is strategic and allows you to easily visit the Necropolis of Pantalica, the river Ciane (papyrus), Marzamemi (small town of fishermen of Arab origin), Palazzolo Acreide (Greek Theatre), Portopalo di Capo Passero, the Island of Currents, Modica (baroque), Scicli (Baroque) Ragusa Ibla (Baroque). Caltagirone (city of ceramics), the Etna park and Taormina.

Very pretty location, with beautiful views from the rooftop terrace of the sea and the surrounding hills. Great property with everything you need. Owner was so lovely and made us a cake for our arrival, plus beer and wine. Would definitely recommend.

Firstly, a big thank you to Emanuele & Teresa for such a warm welcome!
The house is amazing, very clean and comfortable. A car is required to take full advantage of the region and there are so many places to visit that our week seemed a little too short.
Would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area and would love to return myself once again someday!

We stayed in the house as a family (6 people) for a week and had a lovely time. The house is spacious, clean and very well equipped. There are three bedrooms (one downstairs) and there might have been a futon for a fourth but we never found it and in the end didn't need it. The cake on arrival was absolutely delicious and the owners were so friendly and helpful (in a completely non-intrusive way). We even got a tour of their house to see the old olive press (the last few pictures in the slideshow of the property). You definitely need a car; Lidl is 10 minutes away, Avola 15 minutes, Noto 35 minutes, Syracuse 40 minutes.
The pool is a big (4 or 5 metres long) stand-alone unit about 10 metres from the house. It is perfect for cooling off and we used it most days, but the picture on the website is taken from a low angle.
A great base for exploring this part of Sicily, but also big enough to spend days relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet.

We had an amazing 5 nights at Trapetto Del Lago, enjoying the rural tranquility and only a short drive to Avola, Nota, Modica and the beautiful Cava Grande gorge. The hostess Therese was so gracious and helpful (homemade cake on our arrival and a bottle of red wine). If you are in southern Sicily then I would highly recommend this as your base and then just day trips to the Baroque towns, countryside and beaches. We were thrilled that we had not chosen to stay at the beach, but still had a great view of the sea.
Great for up to 1-3 couples and families.
