A lovely stay in Vannes , Maison de la Garenne was ideally situated a short walk from the centre.

We had a lovely spacious bedroom and so great to have a proper traditional french breakfast.

Elegant property, hillside walk to down to town.

About a 10 minute walk down a steep hill to the main town, so it was nice and quiet in a beautiful setting with a view over a park and town. Beautiful property, very comfortable room. Great full, French breakfast.

Extra charge for parking in their driveway, but there is street parking as well in the area.

Lovely house in a great location.

It’s an impressive house in a very good location. Christine and her team were brilliant hosts plus provided an excellent breakfast.

I would have preferred to stay in the main house to get a better sense of the character of the house rather than the modern style annex, especially as this was what attracted us plus it’s quite expensive.

Wonderful. Fabulous house in a beautiful location.

wonderful quiet location very close to the centre of the historic town.Private parking. Greeted so kindly by a lovely hostess and shown around this beautiful house with pool and pretty garden. Breakfast was a delight. A wonderful dining room and a delicious extensive continental breakfast with gorgeous preserves, pastries and bread.

Everything was wonderful but it was unseasonably hot.A fan was provided but a portable aircon in this weather would have been most welcome.

Comfort and elegance within easy walking distance to Vannes

This charming historical property is easy walking distance to the town center and nearby park. The elegance and comfort of the home is enhanced by gracious service and an outstanding breakfast that includes fresh prepared eggs as well as bread, pastries, cheese, fruits, yogurt, etc. We enjoyed the two nights we stayed.

Wish our room had been larger.

An elegant slice of French history

An elegant, historically-rich venue with welcoming, knowledgeable staff, that I would visit again very happily. We were a few weeks early for the pool but our children happily played Monopoly in the games study, whilst we finished off a delicious breakfast that felt like the closest thing we ate on holiday, to home-cooked food.

Lovely renovated house, good location to explore Vannes. Breakfast room & breakfast that was fresh, with great homemade yam's.

Not their fault, because of the weather we couldn't use the pool, so we can't comment on that, but it looked good.

A really delightful stop in an excellent location. Would certainly recommend it.

A charming and efficient hostess, who speaks very good English, welcomed us. Our room was bright and spotless, overlooking the garden, and with an adjoining sitting room. The mattress was comfortably firm and there were adequate reading lights. The property has a small library with plenty of information about the area. The pool is small but beautifully clear and, we were assured by fellow guests, pleasantly warm. We enjoyed the petit dejeuner with freshly squeezed orange juice, and could have had eggs cooked to order had we so wished. (As a bonus, we found our fellow guests very pleasant company.) The marvellous Old Town of Vannes is literally six or seven minutes' walk down the hill.

Since we have an unusually long car we found getting in and out through the gates was very awkward (although Madame had given us the dimensions of the entry when we booked). Not for the first time in this part of France, we found the shower arrangements awkward - the bath had no protective panel so that the shower went everywhere.

A Beautiful Stay in a Gorgeous Manor Home

What a lovely property! This is a manor house that has been in the proprietor's family for a very long time. The location is fantastic. It's so easy to walk to the old part of Vannes and walk around the town. Breakfast was nice, and the staff were helpful and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay there.

A great place to stay if you want to explore the old town of Vannes.

A beautiful period house, with lovely furnishings, set within well established pretty garden with trees and swim spa pool. The rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. Breakfast was good too. Private on site parking was a real bonus. We loved our stay here, the staff and owner were friendly and very welcoming. The house is set on a hill above the harbour and within a short walking distance from the centre of the old town and shops.

Nothing, but you should be aware that there is a short uphill walk back to the property at end of day.

A very comfortable stay in a French family owned small hotel

The hostess and staff went out of their way to make us welcome she even made a gluten free cake for us. The only problem was parking. We parked in the road although there is space in the grounds. The bedroom lighting was too poor to read by, this would have been annoying had we stayed longer other than that the hotel was comfortable very clean and quiet and a lovely French experience

We had a perfect jacuzzi-bath but shower possibility in the bath was difficult. The rest was perfect!

Great stay at Maison de la Garenne

Great location. While in a secluded area, it is a short walk to center of Vannes. The rooms are very large. The bedding was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. The breakfast was excellent. The hosts were very friendly and made sure our stay was enjoyable. Great facilities, but we were so busy we didn't even have time to use the pool or spa. When we come back to Vannes, we will stay here again.

It is difficult to find the first time as it is just off a very short street.
