About this cabin rental
We are situated right ON the Ohio River in the ‘Horse Shoe bends’, turning back & forth through the Forest. Riverboat Captains tell us this is the Prettiest stretch of River from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on down to the Gulf Of Mexico! We are surrounded by the rolling hills of the ‘Hoosier National Forest’, Beautiful old growth trees stretching right down to the water. We have unlimited up and down River views. Our ‘’Castle Colucci’’ has a capacity to hold 20 guests, if there are 2 people to each King, Queen, or sofa sleeper, and one person to each twin bed. We tell our guests that this arrangement will be dependent on your group’s personal privacy needs. Most respond that their large Families or close friends will be just fine sharing a bedroom. Our four bedroom ‘Herons Nest’ cabin is within walking distance if more bedrooms are needed. Flanking both sides are the first & second bedrooms and your first two bathrooms. Entering from Street level, our Great Room holds our living room with two couches, open kitchen & large dining table to comfortably hold 10-12 guests. The living room has a 36’’ flat screen TV & DVD player, and fiber optic WI-FI run directly to your cabin. The oversized dining room table will hold your feasts as well as board games, card games & the many puzzles built over the years. Flanking both sides are the first and second bedrooms and first & second bathrooms. Down the spiral staircase to the lower level are two more large bedrooms, with two more full bathrooms. Between the bedrooms is The Pool Table room to test your skill. A 40” flat screen TV overlooks your game. Both upper & lower levels walk out to your 50 foot covered balconies, where the River scene is ALWAYS breathtaking,..whether it’s boats, barges, wildlife, or another Gorgeous Sunrise or Moonrise! Both balconies look due East over the Ohio River, so whether you watch a Sunrise or Full Moon Rise, each brings its own unique Beauty. On a full moon rise, the River transforms to ‘Moon River’ and It will ‘knock your socks off’. Your CLEAN and private Hot Tub is just this side of our comfy deck chairs. Both the upper & lower decks have chairs and picnic tables. Your campfire is to the side of your cabin, with adjustable cooking racks offset of your main fire. Whether Spinning tales, memories, or ghost stories, the youngsters will remember all their lives. Yes, stories, yarns, & ‘Smores’! The “Castle Colucci’’ is our crowning jewel, our finest cabin that has almost everything…,We just need You. We had 15 ladies and plenty of room. The beds were great. The only issue was the spiders and spider webs out on the deck, but the wonderful view of the River made up for that. We will definitely consider staying here again.

We had a great weekend. Check in was easy. We were about 30 minutes and Michelle was finishing clean she aloud us to set and wait on the deck and put a couple things in the refrigerator. There was 4 couples and the description said it would sleep something like 24. It would be a house full of people. The kitchen needs a couple more skillets and a least one larger.

We choose this place because of what beds were listed in the description and how it would work with the 25 of us going. When we got there the beds in the rooms were nothing like they said they were online. Where there were supposed to be queen beds in two rooms there were twins with the king beds. There was a cot to use but it was falling apart so my son ended up sleeping on the floor because it was more comfortable. Honestly all of the beds were super hard and uncomfortable, the most comfortable beds were the two leather futons that were new in the pool room, all the other beds were quite terrible. The dryer took 3 run throughs to get clothes semi dry and the bathroom in the basement had water leaking down from the shower above when someone showered in it. The river was beautiful, and there was a lot of pans and things we needed in the kitchen to use. Overall it gave us the space we needed for our family reunion and everyone had a great time, it was just had to sleep in the crappy beds.
