The Space:

Snow-dusted pines whisper as you step onto the wraparound deck, the steam from the hot tub rising into the crisp mountain air. Inside, vaulted ceilings and expansive windows flood the chalet‑style cabin with soft light, while the fireplace crackles, inviting you to linger over a glass of wine. The scent of pine mingles with the faint aroma of a wood‑smoked grill, promising evenings that stretch gently into the night. Here, the pace slows and the mountains become your private backdrop for togetherness.

Sleeping arrangements

Four distinct sleeping areas accommodate up to fifteen guests. A loft bedroom holds two queen beds, open to the main space. On the main level, two bedrooms each feature a queen bed. The basement family room offers a queen bed, a twin bed, and a sleeper sofa, while an additional sleeper sofa in the living room provides flexible extra sleeping options.

Bathrooms & essentials

Three full bathrooms supply hot water and bathroom essentials. A washer and dryer are available for longer stays or post‑hike clean‑ups.

Kitchen & dining

The open kitchen is fully equipped for family meals, with ample counter space and a large island bar. A spacious dining table seats the whole group, making shared dinners easy after a day on the trails.

Living spaces

The main living area centers around a rustic fireplace, farmhouse‑inspired wood beams, and a Smart TV. Wi‑Fi reaches throughout the home, though the remote setting can make service slower or spotty, so downloading content in advance is wise. A dedicated workspace lets you blend a bit of remote work with mountain relaxation.

Outdoor living

Even in cooler months, the outdoor spaces shine. Slip into the hot tub for warm water against the cool breeze, or gather around the fire pit under a canopy of stars. The covered porch, screened porch, and wraparound deck each offer a different way to enjoy the scenery, and a grill is ready for use when weather permits.

Neighborhood

Nestled in Great Cacapon, the cabin sits amid the Appalachian Mountains, with nearby parks, hiking trails, and scenic drives. A short drive brings you to Berkeley Springs, where historic hot springs, galleries, and local dining await.

Pet policy & practical notes

The cabin is pet‑friendly for dogs, reflecting the family‑oriented atmosphere; cats are not allowed due to allergies. The cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but natural leaves, pollen, or similar debris may still be visible, especially in certain seasons.

Perfect for reunions, weekend getaways, or a peaceful mountain retreat, Mountain Maple Retreat invites you to slow down, savor the moment, and create lasting memories together.

Overall, a good place to stay if you're looking for remote and private. There's a few things that needs work. Fire pit is nice in the evenings. If you're going and planning on cooking, take a decent size cutting board. There is only a very small one available. Property manager is very good with communication.

The stay wasn't so bad. Had a few issues but could overlook most. We texted and ask if we could check in about 20 minutes early and was told that was no problem. We got there at 3:55 but the cleaners were still there. We waited outside but they invited us in while they finished up. Very sweet women. Once again this was not a big deal at all. Definitely want a clean cabin! They make it clear you will be charged a fee for late check out but they don't offer to make any adjustments for you for the fact the cabin was not ready for check in. We also rented this place because it's secluded. I have a 6 year old autistic daughter who is super loud and an eloper so I definitely was searching for something secluded and found this place (wanted it to where if she escaped there wouldn't be traffic). The third day there, we were gone all day and when we returned that night about 5 I received a texted 30 minutes later about a noise complaint. The listing says secluded and I get it's in a secluded area but they need to be specific there is two houses right beside it. After receiving the complaint we no longer enjoyed our stay. We felt like we were walking on egg shells. We tried to stay gone the whole next day but out all day with children is tiring especially doing it the day before all day as well. Will not book this cabin again. I will say the host was very responsive to all text and emails.
