Lichfield Cathedral luxury 2 bed Apartment

The flat was in a good location for shops pubs and train station. The property itself was clean tidy and well maintained.

It was further from the centre than advertised. Calling it Cathedral Apartment is misleading as it is at least a mile from the cathedral and there were no shops near to buy food.

The property is very nice, comfortable & quiet with an easy 20 min walk into town. However, on arrival we found the previous guest had left their bed linen folded on bed but cleaner had not been in to put clean linen on bed. Contact with Phil was less than helpful & there was no apology or resolution from him.Hopefully this was a one-off event as we have stayed before a couple of times & would consider returning.

Positives include the convenient situation of the flat and that issues, e.g. the missing towels & shower mat and blocked shower drain were quickly attended to. Overall, there are shortcomings in the description. Pleasant as it is, this flat is furnished and equipped minimally and should not be described as "luxury".The apartment looks good in the photos, but when you walk in, the shortcomings quickly become apparent: On opening the front door your are met with a steep flight of stairs, seemingly not mentioned on the website. There are no mirrors in the bedrooms; no bins in the bathroom or bedrooms; no chairs in the bedrooms. The fridge is v. small, with a tiny freezer compartment, and the door shelves not deep enough to take anything larger than a 1ltr bottle of milk.; the TV is not "smart" and the "garden" is a tiny patch of weedy white gravel. There is no visitors' book and insufficient seating for four, let alone 6. The beds are very soft, one having very prominent springs. One blind in the lounge was broken and another missing.On the plus side, the host was generally quick to respond to messages, but we found the brevity of responses unhelpful. There was confusion over the extra costings relating to "additional adults" and some very strange maths. Check-in details were very sketchy sent at 5pm the day before we were due to arrive and only after two messages and contacting VRBO.

We were a group of 5 staying for 4 nights. The communication was excellent and very prompt. The apartment was almost as described, but I would say the double bed in the 2nd bedroom was more on the side of a large single and we could only sleep one adult male in this bed, with 2 having to share the sofa bed. Apart from that, everything else was great. Good amenities within the apartment, nice touch with the welcome basket and folder with instructions and a large list of local restaurants, takeaways etc

Beautifully presented apartment - squeaky clean and very comfortable. All our needs were met - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Highly recommended to future travellers.

Very happy with location and the property. Would stay here again.
